Clover sat alone in front of the bartender's table, fidgeting with her wine glass like a bored person. The contents of her glass were about to spill when the voice of a man she knew very well came to her.
"Why don't you ask me if you want a drink? I'd love to keep you company," Joe said softly in Clover's ear, making her smile without turning around.
"Why are you here? How did you know I was in... ah, why am I asking such a stupid question?" Clover retracted her question because for Joe finding people in the corner of this town was easy.
"Because I need to find you and talk. Please forgive my mother. Please also forgive me for not being able to convince my mother until now," Joe replied without turning his gaze to Clover.
His hand slowly reached for Clover's free hand beside him.
"Let go. What if someone else sees it? I don't want to be seen as a woman who snatched another woman's fiancé," Clover refused.
