Another moment of silence reigned in the dining room as no one uttered a single word. Charles's eyes continued to widen as his mouth fell open.
"No, I'm not! I used to be married, but then she left to the ether!" Wild roared, in utter disbelief, as he was being put in this line of virgins. "Also, my wife is beautiful. At least, when we were together, she was beautiful!"
But alas, everything Wild said quickly faded into the thickening silence in the air. No one cared because everyone's attention was on Charles's son. Setting his eyes on them, his face scrunched up in dismay.
"You're saying… none of you have dated before?"
"I did!" Hugo was quick to answer, almost as if he were forced to do so. "I once had this thing with the doctor at our base."
Jessa arched her brow as she replied, "Really?"
"Yes, really!" Hugo nodded. "She takes care of me, and I protect her from any harm!"
