"Third Brother? What are you doing here?"
The lines between Benjamin's brows deepened as he stared at Slater, who was inside the lift. Both of them looked surprised, but Slater seemed more shocked.
"Be—Ben?" Slater called, his voice shaking a little. "What are you doing here?"
"Me?" Benjamin pointed at himself, his face innocent. "I'm here because of my cousin. My cousin works in the main office, but she's in this branch right now. How about you?"
DING!
The lift rang once more, making both of them look up. In that brief second, their minds filled with thoughts that didn't align with each other. While Benjamin was thinking about jumping into the lift, Slater was worried about something else.
Would Slater press the open button to stop the lift from closing? Or should he just kick Benjamin out if he tried to get in? After all, Benjamin would surely throw a lot of questions. The third option was to run away.
