"This board has decided. Mr. Atlas Bennet is…" Benjamin trailed off, his sharp eyes glinting before the corner of his mouth curled into a smirk. "... the new Chief Operating Officer of the Pierson Corporation. Congratulations and welcome to the Pierson Corporation, Mr. Bennet."
Zoren and Atlas smiled in satisfaction. This time, they couldn't hide it behind their stoic fronts. As both men rose from their seats, a soft applause erupted in the room.
"Congratulations and welcome to the Pierson Corporation," Zoren greeted, offering his hand to Atlas, which the latter clasped tightly.
"Not nervous anymore?" Atlas teased, earning a chuckle from Zoren. "I'm looking forward to working with you, CEO Pierson."
Zoren flashed him a smile, and both of them released each other's hands. As soon as they did, part of the board and the shareholders approached them. The first ones to approach were the people who had wanted to give Atlas a chance.
