Chapter 118 - Feather

The girl and boy, their faces set with determination, moved in perfect sync. Their hands flashed through a series of intricate signs, each movement precise and purposeful. As they pushed their palms outward, it was as if they were pushing against the very fabric of space itself.

From their hands, a glowing magic symbol burst forth, spinning and expanding until it transformed into a colossal shield. The shield shimmered with a radiant light, encircling both of them and the sun in a protective barrier that seemed unbreakable.

But as the pole hurtled closer, the shield began to strain under its sheer force. The boy gritted his teeth, sweat beading on his forehead as he poured every ounce of his power into maintaining the shield. The girl's eyes blazed with determination, her energy feeding into the barrier as she too fought to hold it in place.

Yet, despite their combined efforts, the colossal pole crashed into the shield with an impact that sent shockwaves rippling through space. The barrier, which had seemed so formidable just moments before, shuddered violently under the assault. Cracks began to spiderweb across its surface, the light dimming as the shield faltered.

The boy's eyes widened in horror as he realized their efforts were in vain. The sheer force of the pole was too much, even for their combined strength. The shield, once so bright and strong, shattered into a million fragments, disintegrating into the void.

The girl's breath caught in her throat as she felt the shield collapse, her eyes reflecting the terrifying sight of the massive pole now unimpeded, rushing toward them with unstoppable momentum. The boy beside her let out a shout of defiance, but even he knew it was too late.

Seeing the pole coming towards them.

The boy in black, his eyes filled with determination, glanced over at his sister, her face a mask of worry and anxiety. The weight of the situation pressed down on him, and he knew he had to act. Without a second thought, he placed his hand on his chest and, with a swift motion, ripped it open.

Instead of blood and organs, a vast, dark void appeared in his chest, an emptiness that seemed to stretch into infinity. His sister, the girl in white, watched in horror, her silver eyes flashing with alarm as she realized what he was about to do.

"Nooo, don't do it!" she cried out, her voice filled with desperation. But the boy didn't listen. His resolve was unshakable. With a final, determined look, he began to transform.

His body expanded, growing larger and larger until he dwarfed the sun itself. His form became a towering giant, his dark silhouette looming over the celestial body like a guardian. The colossal pole, still hurtling through space, was now mere moments away from colliding with the sun.

With a mighty roar that echoed through the void, the boy positioned himself between the sun and the oncoming pole. As the pole made contact with his immense form, he absorbed its energy into the void in his chest. The force was unimaginable, and the boy's massive body trembled under the strain. The sheer power of the pole's impact was enough to injure him, causing cracks to appear along his giant form.

The girl in white, desperate to protect her brother, tried to intervene. She rushed forward, her hands glowing with the same ethereal light that had formed the shield before. But before she could reach him, a powerful shockwave from the impact sent her flying backward, hurtling toward the sun.

She cried out as she was pushed into the sun's fiery embrace, her body swallowed by its blinding light. Helplessly, she watched as her brother, now gravely injured, continued to absorb the pole's energy, sacrificing himself to protect the celestial balance.

The giant boy's form began to flicker, his strength waning as he struggled to contain the immense power within him. But he didn't relent. He had made his choice, and he would see it through, no matter the cost.

As the last of the pole's energy was absorbed, the boy's giant form started to collapse, shrinking down as he fell to his knees in the vast emptiness of space. The once mighty figure was now a shadow of its former self, the void in his chest slowly closing as his body began to fade.

In the sun, the girl in white watched in anguish, unable to reach him, powerless to stop what was happening.

As the boy knelt in the vast emptiness of space, his strength waning, a bitter thought crossed his mind, "At least I can die in your presence."

He closed his eyes, resigned to his fate, his giant form slowly disintegrating into the void. But just as he was about to surrender to the darkness, something miraculous happened.

A small, glowing feather appeared out of nowhere, gently floating towards him. The boy's eyes, heavy with the weight of his sacrifice, opened in shock as the feather descended, its light growing brighter as it neared. The feather was no ordinary thing—it shimmered with a divine radiance, an ethereal glow that seemed to carry with it an impossible power.

Before he could comprehend what was happening, the feather touched him, and a wave of warmth and energy enveloped his broken body. The feather wrapped around him, its light forming a cocoon that cradled him with a softness he hadn't felt in ages. The boy, too weak to resist, was lifted from the cold void of space, his form shrinking back to its original size as the feather's power healed his injuries.

Without warning, the cocoon of light began to move, carrying the boy away from the sun and towards Earth. His mind, clouded with confusion and exhaustion, could only grasp fragments of what was happening. The last thing he remembered was the gentle, soothing light of the feather as it guided him through the stars, before he lost consciousness entirely.

Back in the sun, the girl in white watched the scene unfold, her silver eyes wide with shock. She had seen her brother fall, had felt the pain and despair in his heart, and yet now, something beyond her understanding was pulling him away, saving him from the fate he had accepted.

Her eyes flashed silver again, as if searching for answers in the depths of the cosmos, but after a moment, the light faded, and her gaze returned to normal. The initial shock and panic that had gripped her began to subside, replaced by a calm determination.

She floated in the air, her white robes flowing around her like the light of a distant star. Slowly, she settled herself down, crossing her legs in a meditative posture
