Chapter 116 - Boom!

The sun hung ominously in the vastness of space, its presence dominating the void. The strange face imprinted on its surface remained still, its closed eyes giving the impression of deep, undisturbed slumber.

The girl in white and the boy in black stood before it, their forms dwarfed by the immense celestial body.

Suddenly, the sun's eyes began to flutter, the lids twitching as though something within was stirring, attempting to awaken.

The girl's breath caught in her throat as she noticed the subtle movement. Without wasting a moment, her expression hardened, and she brought her hands together in a swift, deliberate motion.

Her fingers moved in a precise pattern, forming an intricate hand sign.

She crossed her index fingers, forming an 'X' in front of her chest, while her thumbs overlapped, pressing against her palms.

Her middle and ring fingers pointed downward, creating a triangular shape, and her pinky fingers curled inward, touching the base of her thumbs.

The entire gesture radiated with ancient power, as if she were invoking something beyond mortal comprehension.

As the girl completed the hand sign, a luminous symbol burst forth from her hands—a glowing infinity symbol, its loops intertwining endlessly, radiating a soft, ethereal light.

The symbol grew rapidly, expanding until it became a colossal structure, far larger than the girl herself.

The infinity symbol transformed into a massive, intricate cage, each loop and curve forming the bars of this celestial prison.

The cage wrapped around the sun, encasing it entirely in a shimmering, unbreakable barrier.

The boy in black didn't hesitate. Mimicking his sister's actions, he extended his hands and performed his own hand sign.

He splayed his fingers wide, then brought them together, forming a rough diamond shape with his palms touching. His thumbs pressed down, while his other fingers curled slightly.

As he completed the sign, a dark, crackling energy burst forth from his hands. The energy coalesced into a jagged, space-like symbol, resembling a fracture in the very fabric of the universe.

This crack-like symbol shot out towards the sun, intertwining with the infinity symbol his sister had created.

The energy fused with the cage, reinforcing it with an added layer of protection, as if the very space around the sun was being sealed off from the rest of the universe.

Right as the sun was sealed off. The cage made a huge sound, which didn't shock the boy and the girl.

The combined power of their symbols locked the sun within a prison that pulsated with otherworldly energy.

The face on the sun, which had begun to stir, suddenly stilled. The fluttering eyes stopped moving, the subtle signs of awakening halted by the overwhelming force of the cage. The sun remained trapped, its power contained, at least for now.

The girl and the boy watched in silence.

The girl and the boy stood in the stillness of space, their eyes locked on the sun, which remained ensnared within the glowing cage. The silence between them lingered, heavy with unspoken thoughts.

Suddenly, the boy broke the silence, his voice tinged with frustration. "Sis, how much longer do we have to do this?"

The girl, her gaze still fixed on the imprisoned sun, replied in a calm yet firm tone. "You know we have to complete this mission."

The boy's expression turned bitter as he glanced away from the sun. "But for how long, though? You know I don't like being here, especially when..." His voice trailed off, but the weight of his words hung in the air.

Before he could finish, the girl sharply turned her head towards him, her eyes narrowing. "Shhh," she hissed, her voice urgent. "Not here. It will ruin everything."

The boy clenched his fists, swallowing the rest of his words. He knew his sister was right, but the frustration and discomfort gnawed at him.

The girl looked at her brother and then she sighed and said, "Just few more days, and then we will go back,"

Hearing that boy was happy again, and the mischievous smile came back once again.

Back in the house, Lin Xiao was sitting on the sofa, trying to calm his thoughts when suddenly, a massive sound echoed through the air.

It was as if a star had exploded in the distant sky, the force of the sound reverberating through the walls. Lin Xiao's heart raced as he jumped up, his eyes wide with shock.

On his lap, Little Blackie stiffened, her ears twitching as she sensed something unusual. Then, her voice echoed in his mind, laced with urgency. "Xiao Xiao, I felt a power similar to mine."

Lin Xiao's shock deepened. "What do you mean? You felt something like your power?" he asked, his mind racing to comprehend what was happening.

Little Blackie's eyes narrowed, her gaze distant as if she were trying to focus on something far beyond the room they were in. "It was brief, but unmistakable. It felt like... like time itself was manipulated."

Lin Xiao's pulse quickened. The implications of such a power—one similar to Little Blackie's—unsettled him deeply. He had thought the situation with the twin moons and the strange events surrounding him were already complex enough, but now it seemed there were even more layers to uncover.

"What could it mean?" he wondered aloud, his mind spinning with possibilities.

As he tried to piece together the meaning of everything, his thoughts were interrupted by his sister running into the room.

"Brother, are you alright??!! There was a huge boom sound," she exclaimed, her voice filled with concern.

Lin Xiao looked up, momentarily pushing aside his confusion. "Yes, I'm alright," he assured her, "Are you?"

His sister nodded, though she still looked shaken. "I'm fine… but what was that noise?"

Lin Xiao hesitated, unsure how to explain the unsettling events that had unfolded. "I'm not sure," he admitted, glancing down at Lil'blackie and Xiao Bai, who were still curled up on his lap. "But we need to stay alert. Something strange is going on."

His sister looked at him, her worry evident, but she didn't press further. Lin Xiao could see the questions in her eyes
