Chereads / Abandoned in the deep / Chapter 8 - Shelter (2)

Chapter 8 - Shelter (2)

Tahel felt very tired after those adventures. He finally felt that he had reached a safe place.

Although it seemed that Zack was against his presence.

But he had to trust Elaine and the rest of the group to convince Zack.

However, he had no other choice.

The underground shelter was spacious and good enough; Elaine's group seemed to have prepared the place well.

There was a big space there.

And it was divided into several parts. A section was filled with a number of shelves and a series of essentials were located there. And there was a part as a rest room and another part as a planning room, where there were a series of maps of different places in the city that Elaine's group was working on.

Elaine noticed Tahel's surprised face. "You seem excited. As you can see, this is our hideout. Doesn't it look good?"

"We could hardly capture here. Although it is close to the city wall, it can be said that this is the safest place in the city. Of course, if we don't consider the farmer's shop."

Joshua got a nervous face when he heard the farmer's name.

"Ah..., that damn old man. Don't talk to me at all, I think I'm ready to die, but i'm not go to on him."

Billy and Karina started laughing after hearing Joshua's words. "Hahaha...; it must be because of that beating you got, isn't it?!"

The tense atmosphere of the place was completely lost due to the sound of Karina and Billy's laughter, which made the Tahel feel a little calmer.

Although he was still under Zack's gaze, the feeling of tension was less than before.

However, Tahel was completely confused by Elaine and Joshua's words. "What did they mean by the city wall and the farmer?!"

Zack noticed Tahel's confused face, but decided not to say anything; Because he still could not trust him. He didn't want his group to get hurt, and that bad thing happen again.

So he turned to Elaine in a soft voice and said: "Elaine, you and the others should go and rest, you've come a long way, you must be tired."

Zack was right; Tiredness was visible on everyone's face, so she nodded in approval and asked Joshua to take Tahel to the resting place.

Tahel was still confused, but fatigue did not allow him to think. So he decided to ask them his questions after resting a bit.

The place prepared for rest was like the soldiers' dormitory, but a few levels below it. Because they had to sleep on the floor without any bed. Fortunately, blankets and pillows were available.

However, this place looked good for Tahel.

At least he felt comfortable because he had a roof over his head and people by his side. He was not alone and without, shelter like when he was in that plain.

So Tahel lay down on the bed that Joshua spread for him; Without realizing it, slowly his eyes warmed from sleep and he fell into a deep sleep.

Seeing how Tahel fell asleep so soon, Joshua thought to himself, "He must have been very tired, he fell asleep so soon."

Joshua and Billy also went to sleep a little; Because later they have to switch places with Zak for guard.

one hour later.

"Hey Josh, wake up, now it's our turn to give guard."

Joshua was a little lazy because he didn't want to leave that warm and soft place. "Uh...Billy, just let me sleep for five more minutes," he said in a choked voice.

"Yeah, sure!" said Billy with a sarcastic voice. So he quickly pulled the blanket off Joshua and kicked him in the leg.

"Hey, I said, wake up. Your five minutes always turn into half an hour. Needlessly don't to bargain for me. If you don't want Zack to come to you, get up early."

Joshua saw Billy's threat. He got up quickly. And he clicked under his lip: "Task...Damn."

Although Joshua looked like a muscular and powerful person, he was really afraid of Zack; Because he was not only strong, but also too a strong strategist, and every time he fought against Zack, he lost.

He didn't want to be beaten one-sidedly by Zack anymore, he felt that if he was beaten by him again, the same bit of pride he had would be lost.

Although Joshua and Billy were noisy, Tahel was still asleep. As if he was not in that world at all.

Joshua playfully stroked Billy's cheeks and softly whispered in his ear: "Hey, do you think we should wake him up?!"

Billy firmly hit Joshua's hand and distanced himself from him and said in a quiet voice with a bit of harshness: "Hey, what are you doing?! come on, He must be very tired, let him sleep."

They went to the guard place with their usual discussion.

Meanwhile, Zack and Elaine were discussing about with in the group staying Tahel.

"Elaine, we can't accept it," Zack said with a sullen face.

"He might have lied, and wanted to gain the group's pity like this. I don't want that to happen again."

Elaine understood Zack's worried; They almost lost their lives a few months ago; Because they helped a person who was injured, but in return they saw betrayal.

And because of that issue, Billy almost lost his life.

And they even lost their previous shelter which was near the farmer's shop.

If that treacherous thing didn't happen, they could go to the next city.

Because passing through the gate of each city required life points.

A score that determined the amount of life of each person and was on the left hand.

A very vital point, which you needed to exchange and get anything.

Each person needed 100 life points for one day of life; Of course, those 100 points were only for survival, not for water and food and... Food and water were very scarce in this place, and it was difficult to get them; Because the water and food of this place was contaminated.

However, Elaine could sense that Tahel was not lying.

She had a strange feeling; She felt that she must keep him in the group.

Elaine looked at Zack with a pleading face. "Then let's keep an eye on him for a while, if he shows suspicious behavior, then I will do whatever you say."

Zack, seeing Elaine's insistence on this, nodded in agreement. "Alright, okay."

Bored Karina was roaming around the sanctuary, she went to the rest room as she was a bit curious about that boy.

When she got there, she saw that Tahel was still asleep and had not woken up.

Josh and Billy had also gone to the guard post.

Drops of sweat were dripping on Tahel's forehead and he was panting.

Suddenly, a strange shiver fell on Tahel's body.

Karina was shocked to see that scene and screamed.

"Aaaaaahhhhhhh."

Hearing Karina's screams, Elaine and Zach rushed towards the sound.
