Luca pulled Sophia through the street as the rain poured down in sheets, drenching them both. He glanced over his shoulder, ensuring they weren't being followed.

"We need to find shelter," Luca whispered urgently.

Sophia nodded, still consumed by fear. They ducked into an alleyway, the dim street light barely illuminating their path. Luca scanned the area and spotted a sewer grate slightly ajar. Without hesitation, he lifted it and gestured for Sophia to go first.

"Quickly," he urged.

Sophia climbed down the metal rungs, the cold seeping through her clothes. Luca followed, lowering the grate behind them. They descended into the darkness, the sound of rushing water echoing around them. The sewer was dank and smelled of rot, but it was better than being caught by Marco's men.

They huddled together on a narrow ledge, trying to stay out of the ankle-deep water. The rain pounded above them, the storm's fury masking any sounds from the streets.
