Chapter 7 - Late Stages of the Viscera Training Small Success Realm

…....

After looking over the most recent system notifications, Azmodeus was reminded of the fact that all his stats were no longer increasing at the same rate.

It turned out that for the first three levels, he was only gaining so many stat points due to something that the system called giving him 'a little starter boost'.

However, after he passed level 4 and subsequently made it past the 1.0 stat point mark for each stat, things started to change with each creature that he absorbed the stats of.

He decided to look over his current system interface to get a better understanding of his new system interface management.

A bright blue and gold light flashed.

BLING!

"It seems like my strength is increasing at quite an unbelievable rate," Azmodeus mused after scrolling through his system interface.

After looking at it over a dozen times since the system activated, he had already gotten used to the insanity that was this Infinite Evolution System.

Furthermore, there was no use in being so surprised every single time that his stats improved.

He was a very simple man, as that was just how his life had been for as long as he could remember.

He would wake up every morning, tend to the chickens, collect some fruits for his elder sect members, and then finish off the day by cleaning up the sect grounds.

There were few discrepancies between that agenda from day to day, and he had lived an extremely mundane life due to the same things happening constantly.

It was because of those routine days that he eventually adapted, and along with that adaptation came a relatively nonchalant and aloof persona.

However, things were different now…

-

After looking over his system interface, Azmodeus started walking in the direction of a set of tracks around five hundred meters out.

If his speculations were right, then these tracks had a high probability of being the prints of a spiritual beast in the Viscera Training Small Success Realm.

This will make for the perfect opportunity to test out my new strength…

He was just itching to find another beast that was near his general bracket of power!

After obtaining more power and a faster way to acquire that same power, he also started to have this odd craving that told him to actively search out anything to fight.

He had never felt anything like it before, but considering how weak he was pre-system, it was no surprise that he never had the urge to fight stronger opponents.

But in the end, a cultivator who pursued the peak of power would oftentimes find 'objects' to help sharpen their blades as they became stronger.

Which in his case didn't happen until after he became more confident in his power.

*Tap Tap*

Soft steps sounded out as a shadowy figure crouched through a few bushes, his fierce eyes honed in on a large bird that went by the name of a 'Cockatoo'.

It was a beast subspecies of a mutant bird, and possessed vibrant, colorful feathers and a razor-sharp beak capable of cutting through metal sheets.

And this very beast in the Viscera Training Small Success Realm was staring down a small-horned rabbit that was munching on some horsetail grass.

It was looking to sneak up on that swift rabbit and take it by surprise; however, it was completely unaware of the being behind it that was aiming to do the same exact thing…

A mantis is stalking a cicada, utterly unaware of the oriole behind…

Azmodeus quite liked that saying. And it was this very thing that occupied his mind as he inched ever closer to the Cockatoo that was getting ready to pounce.

*Pat!*

And at the exact moment that the Cockatoo dashed forward, he leaped out from a nearby bush and lifted his sharp rock upwards, striking the Cockatoo across its head!

"Crackkaaa!!"

The beast hollered with an anguished and shrill cry, as it seemed like one strike wasn't enough to take it down once and for all.

Azmodeus saw the Cockatoo go tumbling due to the force of the attack before it limped up off the ground with an enraged look on its colorful, feathered face.

"It appears like you're not wanting this to be easy, huh…?" He questioned with a cold gleam flashing past his eyes.

And before the giant three-meter bird could charge at him and unleash its 'Feather Spray' attack, he disappeared from view and used his superior speed to run around the Cockatoo.

He used the surroundings to his advantage, aiming to sneak around the large bird and snap its neck with one swift strike.

However, it looked like the Cockatoo had already expected such a move from the unknown creature, as it shot its head toward a particular tree and rushed to it while launching its 'Feather Spray'.

SHING! SHING!

A couple dozen razor-sharp red and blue feathers with the thickness of steel were shot out from the top of the Cockatoo's fro.

SLICE! SLICE!

The tree it shot them at was subsequently turned into swiss cheese as the entire thing came crashing down onto the grass below!

BAM!

It hit the ground with a loud bang as all the nearby animals ran away in fear.

The Cockatoo took painful steps toward the destroyed tree as it was looking for any sign of that bipedal creature that had dared to sneak attack it.

However, when it saw that no one was bleeding out from its devastating attack, it swiveled its head in a different direction.

But as soon as it noticed something was up, it was already too late…
