Rather than staying in bed as she had been doing whenever Desmond got up in the morning, the duke found his wife climbing out of the warmth of soft blankets and going to one of the armoires as she stretched her tiredness away.
While he appreciated the view she was giving him with the thin chemise from how warm they kept the Queen's Room at night, he wanted her to know she could rest while he worked. He knew that being in the capital was an inconvenience.
"Why are you getting up already?" Desmond asked, approaching his own armoire and finding clothes befitting of a duke and suitable to sit in another meeting for much of the day. "Stay in bed for longer, it's going to be cold today."
To his surprise, Leonor turned to him with riding clothes in her hands and a jacket over her arms.
"I'm going to begin sparring with Quinn from today onward," she explained. "I need to build my stamina and make sure I'm not losing my skill."
