The kiss was so unexpected that Leonor found herself completely breathless and devoid of any response other than melting into her husband and placing her hands on either side of his face as she tried to steady herself and her spinning head.
When the breathlessness caught up to her, Leonor broke the kiss but she rested her forehead against Desmond's lips and he gently planted more kisses on her forehead. She could feel him smiling.
"You caught me by surprise," she admitted, catching her breath. "I thought I was going to suffocate."
"Let me be your air," Desmond whispered.
How he could say something so unbelievably cheesy yet the way it made her stomach flip was beyond her.
She looked at him incredulously but he ignored it and kissed her once more. At least with that one she was less taken aback and got comfortable as she leaned into him.
