Chapter 94 - The Clown II

The moon came out before Kyrexiel finished his meeting with the Clown and his commander. He stretched on the carpet, liking the way his joints and muscles felt after a long day of sitting. He picked up the cup and took a sip of the sweet wine.

"You have been looking at me for a while now, Malak. Speak."

Malak's eyes shone red in the near dark. "The Clown. You don't trust him."

Kyrexiel paused and began playing with the cup he was holding. "Do you trust him?"

Malak snorted. "I trust very little. And I don't trust him. He seems just a bit too eager to help when he knows the true scope of the situation."

Kagerou sighed beside Kyrexiel; he was eating as well, even though he kept his ears and eyes open for threats. "If you don't trust him then why are you working with him?"
