As soon as the servant led Max to the restroom, he got called away and apologized that he would have to see to some other matter, hoping he could make his way back to the dining table himself.
To this, Max smiled and said,
"No worries. I'll go back on my own. Thank you for your hard work." He said, and the servant went away feeling at ease.
Once he was gone, Max's lips curled up in a grin. Just what he wanted.
He got out of the restroom and checked both sides to make sure there was no one looking after him.
'Ross, you're damn careless.' he thought and swiftly made his way to Valerie's room. True to the servant's words, the room was not locked.
He opened the door, glanced around, and then closed it. The room was plain, having been cleared out. They wasted no time in clearing out all of Valerie's possessions and nothing was left behind.
He just hoped the laptop was where Valerie said it'd be.
