The small (compared to other places Rika had seen until now) three-stories house looked and felt familiar to Rika.
She longed to step forward and knock, but a sudden wave of nerves engulfed her. It was a level of nervousness she had never experienced, not even when she returned home.
But something inside her told her she needed to make an excellent first impression and not mess this meeting up, no matter what happened.
Seeing Rika frozen in front of the door and not opening it, Emily coughed into her fist and decided to open the door for her.
"It can be nerve-wracking to stand out here and wait for the other side to acknowledge you first, but this is ridiculous. I cannot sit here and see this happening anymore."
Emily signed, and the door opened. It was an older-looking lady who looked like she had not slept well in about a month.
As soon as her eyes met Rika's, they widened, and a smile spread across the female's face.
