"Suzie, are you sure you are feeling alright? If you feel sick, we can take you to a doctor or something. You don't have to suffer in silence like this."
Her father reached out to touch Suzie's face, but she quickly pulled back and bit her lip in agitation.
This had not gone according to plan, and Suzie felt foolish to believe things would go as she had hoped.
'Tsk, wasn't there news of Mother's affair all around the office? Then why doesn't Father look more troubled than this? He should be too disappointed to think much and easier to mold to my liking.'
Suzie was annoyed on the inside, but she only showed a happy and content smile on the outside.
"No! Nothing is wrong with me, father. I just heard a few things about my mother and her job, which worried me a bit! But don't worry! I have sorted out my feelings, so you don't need to worry about anything."
Suzie assured her father while showing a half-pained smile to him.
