Morning after we receive a message from 999. The gist of the message was that we instructed to choose between joining Majagada Expedition Forces to conquer the Flokian Knight League or embarking on a adventure to the region God 888 in the Principality of Kogurs and the Principality of Naulm.
I waited Kuti to wake up before making the decision. Out of patient I pinched her cheek. After I pinched that sleeping princess finally waking up and I show her message that I got From 999
"For me, we should follow King Majagada first. This way, we can level up and improve our combat skills. We have a lot of experience with monster enemies, but not with other humans. Plus, we can take advantage of the fact that we can't die," Kuti suggested.
"I'll follow your choice. Wherever you want to go, I'll go with you," I said, hugging Kuti. "Let's get up and go downstairs to shower and have breakfast before informing King Majagada that we're joining him."
Kuti went to shower at her house first. I took my towel and showered in the bathroom on the second floor. After that, I went downstairs and found both our parents waiting with King Majagada and his subordinates.
"Good morning, envoys of the god," greeted King Majagada.
"Good morning, Your Highness," I replied and sat down in front of King Majagada.
"So, did you receive any new commands from the gods?" he asked me.
"Indeed, Your Highness. We were ordered to assist you in conquering the Flokian Knight League," I answered.
King Majagada's face lit up with joy, and he smiled proudly. My parents and Kuti's parents looked at me with pride as well. For the first time, I felt proud of my accomplishment. We waited for Kuti to join us before having breakfast together this morning.
During breakfast, I learned that we would continue our journey to the city of Ohms. The travel time was only a few hours with the military vehicles provided by Majagada that had just arrived. Everything would be transported using these vehicles.
Kuti and I got ready and packed the items we would bring. After packing, we headed to the front of the destroyed guild building. The military vehicles turned out to be a convoy of horse-drawn caravans. We entrusted our backpacks to the caravan carrying King Majagada's belongings, as he instructed.
Kuti and I rode behind King Majagada, departing at exactly 10 AM. Fortunately, the rainy season sun wasn't too harsh on us. However, if it rained and we traveled on unpaved roads, it would be difficult.
During our journey, we were intercepted by the Order of the Sun Knights on the road to the city of Ohms. They had 5,000 infantry, all armed with swords. King Majagada instructed me not to interfere and let his troops handle the battle.
"If I rely too much on divine help, my troops won't gain experience and will become lazy," said King Majagada. "I'll allow you to help if there's a major battle and my troops are at a stalemate."
After two hours of fighting, the enemy finally retreated. King Majagada didn't order his troops to pursue them. He seemed cautious about something. Moreover, the road ahead was narrowing as we entered a dense forest area.
"What do you think about moving my caravan to the front? I feel there might be an ambush ahead," King Majagada asked me.
"Y-your Highness," I replied. "I-if the caravan is in the front, won't it endanger your logistics? How about we leave the logistics convoy for a while and send scouts ahead first?"
"Or you could send me to scout alone," I suggested to King Majagada. "No matter how many troops there are, I'm ready to take them down."
"No. I don't want the enemy to know I have a powerful card. Stay here and be patient," said King Majagada.
I nodded and obeyed King Majagada's orders. He placed the caravan at the front and continued the journey. As King Majagada predicted, enemy cavalry appeared from the front and attacked. But because the caravan blocked their path, they couldn't charge at full speed and slowed down.
Majagada infantry advanced and attacked the cavalry. Suddenly, more knights appeared from our right and left. King Majagada ordered Kuti and me to stay with him and not help his troops.
King Majagada wanted us to guard around him. This man was confident in his troops' abilities. Well, I didn't mind. It gave me time to cool my head after yesterday's events.
I rode beside Kuti. "Majagada's troops are really strong. Their determination and willpower make them strong, in my opinion."
"But we're still stronger," Kuti said.
Majagada's troops managed to defeat the ambush. Now they were getting closer to the city of Ohms. The frightened knights surrendered and allowed Majagada to enter and pass through their city.
The citizens cheered to welcome them, but I believed their cheers were out of fear, probably because they heard about us slaughtering all the knights in our town. Without much delay, King Majagada decided to continue the journey. Crossing the bridge of the city of Ohms made it easier for us to cross the Klaka River.
Throughout our journey, towns that heard of our brutal actions surrendered immediately upon seeing our troops arrive. In two days, we conquered six towns with ease. The territories controlled by the Order of the Moon Knights and the Order of the Sun Knights were now under our control. The Grandmaster of the Sun Knights fled to the territory of the Order of Ludanes Knights.
During this journey, I realized how King Majagada chose who to spare and who to kill. He killed those who blocked his way and refused to submit to him. He also spared the citizens as long as they provided him with food and water while his troops were there.
We set up camp around the city of Nesbakki. The Ludanes Knights watched and scouted us from the city's buildings. Nesbakki didn't have walls, so if they wanted to fight, it would be in an open area.
"Kuti, it's time to eat." I entered our tent and found Kuti lying down, fast asleep.
I went back outside and took two plates of beef soup and rice. Then I brought the plates into the tent. The aroma of food woke Kuti up.
"Feed me," she asked sweetly. "My sleeping bag is too warm."
"Come out, and I'll warm you up," I replied, after placing the plates near our campfire. I unzipped her sleeping bag and hugged her. "Let's eat."
"This is warm," Kuti hugged me tightly and kissed my lips. "It would be exciting if, one day, when we get tired of adventuring here, we get married, have children, and live to old age here."
"Yes. But our adventure is still long," I replied, inviting her to join me for dinner.
"Oh, and we need to find more materials and items for repairs," Kuti said. "After conquering Ludanes, we'll need a lot of materials, especially dragon teeth."
"Regarding that, I heard from a prisoner I interrogated that southwest of Ludanes is an island where dragons reside. Maybe we can look for them there," I said, finishing my meal.
I asked 999, taking out my phone and sending a message. "May we take some time to gather materials?"
"Sure. I actually enjoy seeing you work hard to become stronger without asking me," replied 999. "By the way, I'm thirsty for sacrifices again. Can you provide me with sacrifices from the battle tomorrow?"
"How many do I need to kill?" I asked.
"Just ten," answered 999.
Suddenly, there was a message in our gaming group from Dahlan. "Kuti, Thomas! You traitors! Just wait until we meet again! I will defeat you!"
Rosa scolded Dahlan, "Dahlan! If they hadn't shown mercy, you would be dead now. Thomas and Kuti saved me from execution."
"In exchange, we had to work for King Majagada. Our parents are held hostage by them," Kuti replied.
"Seriously? 999, can't you help them?" Dahlan asked.
"No," 999 replied.
"Then I apologize for accusing you," Dahlan replied. "Where are you now?"
"Kuti and I are forced to accompany King Majagada during his war," Kuti replied.
"I'm currently training in the Majagada Kingdom," Rosa said. "Where are you, Dahlan?"
"I'm in the Rurga region, part of the Ilm Empire. I'm just enjoying defeating monsters and helping the citizens," Dahlan replied. "Where is Thomas? Why isn't he responding?"
"Thomas is being tortured by King Majagada," Kuti replied, lying. "Because he kept resisting."
I looked at Kuti and sighed in frustration. She giggled, "Luckily, Dahlan is so gullible. He believed Rosa and us immediately."
"I actually feel guilty. Dahlan is a good person. I feel like we're the bad ones. We can't be together as a group anymore," I said, taking our empty plates back to the kitchen area.
"I'll come with you," Kuti said, following behind me.
After returning the plates to the kitchen, Kuti and I climbed one of the watchtowers in the middle of the camp to enjoy the view. The scenery was incredibly beautiful.
We held hands, enjoying the starry night sky. "In our real world, such a view is rare because of pollution. I'm also relieved that in this world, I don't get sick easily. And I can express my love to someone," Kuti said, looking at me.
"K-Kuti, what is the reason you love me?" I asked.
"That's a secret!" Kuti replied happily. "Whether in this world or the real world, I still love you."
"M-me too," I replied shyly. "Actually, since we were kids and went to school together, I was afraid to tell you because you were too popular, and I felt inferior."
"But I still chose you. Out of all the guys who confessed their feelings for me, you were my choice," Kuti looked at me seriously. "Be a little braver and make firm decisions, Thomas."
"I-it's late! L-let's go to sleep!" I said, diverting attention. "T-thank you, Kuti."
