John chuckled, "Let's figure out the construction plan first, then we'll worry about the funds. Maybe we can approach some investors or consider a loan if necessary but I don't believe in loans. Anyway, don't worry about the funds, okay?."
Grace looked thoughtful, " Yeah...I'll check out some TikTok videos on the latest trends in store construction and design. You'd be surprised at how many innovative ideas people share there."
John laughed, "TikTok, huh? I guess we can find inspiration anywhere these days. But I personally don't believe it, those are just AI creative arts nowadays if I won't be wrong!"
As they continued brainstorming, Grace's phone buzzed with notifications. She glanced at the screen and grinned, "Speaking of TikTok, there's a live stream of an architect discussing the best layouts for wholesale stores. Want to join?"
John leaned in closer, "Sure, let's see what they have to say."
They watched the live stream together, occasionally pausing to discuss ideas or jot down notes. The architect highlighted the importance of natural lighting, efficient shelving, and customer flow, all of which resonated with their plans.
Grace's enthusiasm was contagious, and John found himself more excited than ever. "This is really helpful," he said. "We should definitely incorporate some of these ideas."
After the live stream ended, Grace stretched and yawned. "It's getting late, John. Maybe we should call it a night."
John looked outside and noticed the rain pouring down. "Yeah, you're right. Let's wrap this up."
As they packed up their things, John offered, "Do you need a ride home? I can give you a lift on my motorcycle."
Grace smiled, "That would be great, thanks."
They donned their rain gear and headed out into the storm. The ride to Grace's place was exhilarating, the rain adding a sense of adventure to the journey. By the time they arrived, they were both soaked but in high spirits.
Grace invited John inside, "Come on in. It's freezing out there. I'll make us some coffee and pancakes."
John nodded gratefully, "That sounds perfect."
Inside, the warmth of Grace's apartment was a welcome contrast to the cold rain outside. As Grace busied herself in the kitchen, John looked around, noting the cosy and eclectic decor.
Grace soon emerged with two steaming mugs of coffee and a plate of pancakes. "Here you go, the best pancakes you'll ever taste."
John took a bite and groaned in delight, "You weren't kidding. These are amazing!"
They settled on the couch, enjoying their impromptu feast. The conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and lighthearted banter.
Grace looked at John, her eyes twinkling, "You know, we make a pretty good team."
John smiled, "Yeah, we do. I couldn't have done this without you, Grace."
There was a moment of silence, the air filled with unspoken possibilities. Grace looked away, a blush creeping up her cheeks. "So, uh, any thoughts on what we should do next?"
John leaned back, sipping his coffee, "Well, first we need to finalise our construction plans. Then, we'll approach potential construction companies. Maybe we can create a pitch deck to showcase our vision."
Grace nodded, "Sounds like a plan. And hey, I can handle the creative aspects. I've got a few ideas for our pitch that could really wow the constructors."
John grinned, "I knew I could count on you."
They spent the next few hours discussing their plans in detail. Grace pulled up more construction models on her tablet, and they analysed each one, considering how it would fit their needs.
"This one has a great layout for the loading docks," John noted, pointing at the screen. "But the customer area feels a bit cramped."
Grace nodded, "Agreed. What about this design? It's got a spacious customer area and efficient back-end logistics."
John studied the model, "Yeah, this looks promising. We might need to make a few adjustments, but it could work."
As they talked, the atmosphere grew more intimate. They shared stories, joked about potential mishaps, and even imagined the grand opening of their new store.
Grace laughed, "Imagine if we invited Rashid to the grand opening just to see the look on his face."
John chuckled, "Now that would be priceless."
The conversation eventually shifted to more personal topics. They talked about their dreams, their fears, and their hopes for the future.
Grace looked at John, her expression softening, "You know, John, I've never felt more excited about a project. This feels special."
John met her gaze, his heart pounding, "I feel the same way, Grace. This isn't just a business venture for me. It's... more than that."
There was a charged silence as they looked at each other, the unspoken emotions hanging in the air. Grace took a deep breath, "John, I—"
Suddenly, the power flickered, and the room plunged into darkness. Grace let out a surprised laugh, "Well, that's one way to break the tension."
John laughed too, "Guess the storm knocked out the power. Do you have any candles?"
Grace nodded, "Yeah, I'll go get them."
As she lit the candles, the soft glow added a warm, intimate atmosphere to the room. They settled back on the couch, the flickering light casting shadows on the walls.
John reached out and took Grace's hand, "Grace, I'm really glad we're doing this together. I feel like... well, like we're building more than just a store."
Grace squeezed his hand, her eyes shining, "I feel the same way, John. This is just the beginning, isn't it?"
John nodded, "Yeah, it is."
They sat there, hand in hand, the rain pattering against the windows, the future bright and full of possibilities. In that moment, it felt like anything was possible, and for the first time, John allowed himself to imagine a future not just built on success, but on shared dreams and maybe even love.
The night wore on, the bond between them growing stronger with each passing moment. As the storm outside began to calm, the warmth and connection inside Grace's apartment only grew.
John cleared his throat and leaned towards Grace, " Can I give you a simple test?" Grace nodded, " Okay, just close your eyes for about five minutes, whom do you imagine?"
