Chapter 40 - Let's Meet at 10 AM

Suddenly, John's phone rang indicating an incoming call. John contemplated before he reached the phone" Who might be this calling?"

As John pulled out his phone, he saw the caller ID flash with an unknown number. He hesitated for a moment, then swiped to answer.

"Hello, this is John," he said, his voice calm and authoritative.

"Good evening, Mr. John," a female voice replied. "My name is Laura, and I represent an investment company interested in discussing a potential partnership. Would you be available for a meeting tomorrow?"

John's mind raced. This call was unexpected, but he felt a surge of excitement. "Yes, Laura, I can arrange some time tomorrow. Let's meet at 10 AM at my place if you won't mind. I'll have my manager coordinate the details with you and pin the location."

"Thank you, Mr. John. I look forward to our meeting. Have a good evening," Laura said before hanging up.

John put his phone away, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. This potential partnership could be a significant step forward. He rose from the bench and began walking back to the mansion, his thoughts now divided between the upcoming meeting and the new business opportunity.

Upon entering the mansion, he was greeted by Roy, who had been waiting for him. "Is everything alright, Mr. John?" Roy asked, noticing the contemplative look on John's face.

"Yes, Roy. I just received an interesting call. I have a meeting tomorrow with an investment group representing a certain company at 10 AM. Please coordinate the details with Laura from their team here are her contacts," John instructed.

"Of course, Mr. John. I'll handle it right away," Roy replied, his efficiency evident in his prompt response.

John nodded and made his way to his study, a room that exuded an air of intellectual sophistication. Bookshelves lined the walls, filled with volumes on various genres, and a large oak desk dominated the centre of the room. He sat down and began to review the notes he had made during the employee meeting.

The atmosphere in the mansion felt different now. There was a palpable energy, a sense of optimism and ambition. John knew he had made a strong impression on his team, and he was determined to build on that momentum.

The next morning, John woke up early, feeling refreshed and ready for the day's activities. He dressed in one of the new suits he had purchased, a sleek black Armani that fit him perfectly. As he looked in the mirror, he felt a surge of confidence.

Roy had already prepared the meeting room, ensuring everything was in order. The table was set with water bottles, notepads, and pens, ready for the discussions to come. John appreciated Roy's attention to detail; it was one of the reasons he valued him as a manager and secretly he was checking if Roy was a potential personal assistant.

At precisely 10 AM, Laura and her team arrived in GT Bentley. Laura was a poised, elegant woman in her early forties, exuding professionalism and confidence. She introduced her colleagues, each of whom had a specific expertise in finance, marketing, and operations.

"Thank you for meeting with us, Mr. John," Laura began, taking a seat at the table. "We have been following your recent achievements and believe there is great potential for collaboration."

"Thank you, Laura," John replied, sitting down opposite her. "I'm always open to exploring new opportunities. Please, tell me more about your proposal."

Laura and her team presented their vision for a strategic partnership that would leverage John's influence and resources to expand into new markets. They discussed potential joint ventures, marketing strategies, and investment opportunities.

As the conversation progressed, John could see the value in their proposal. Their ideas were innovative and aligned with his vision for growth. He asked probing questions, ensuring he understood the intricacies of the deal and assessing the potential risks and rewards.

The meeting lasted for over two hours, but by the end of it, John felt confident that this partnership could be mutually beneficial. They agreed to draft a preliminary agreement and schedule a follow-up meeting to finalise the details.

After Laura and her team left, John felt a sense of accomplishment. The meeting had gone well, and he was excited about the possibilities it presented. He walked to the grand foyer and stood by the fountain, letting the sound of the cascading water calm his mind.

Roy approached him, a look of curiosity on his face. "How did the meeting go, Mr. John?"

"It went well, Roy. I believe this partnership could be very beneficial for attaining business growth. Please ensure we have all the necessary documents ready for the next meeting," John replied.

"Of course, Mr. John. I'll take care of it," Roy said, his professionalism unwavering. Roy began to guess in his mind, ' My boss is gaining trust in me...I have to work smart.'

John decided to take another walk around the mansion, feeling a need to reconnect with the space that was now his. As he strolled through the gardens, he noticed Mary, the head chef, tending to a small herb garden near the kitchen.

"Good afternoon, Mary," John greeted her. "Those herbs look wonderful."

"Good afternoon, Mr. John," Mary replied with a smile. "Thank you. I like to use fresh herbs in my cooking. It makes all the difference."

"I completely agree. Your dedication to quality is one of the things that makes this place special," John said, appreciating her hard work.

He continued his walk, heading towards the swimming pool area. The sun was shining, and the water glistened invitingly. He saw a few of the staff members enjoying a break by the pool, chatting and laughing. John felt a sense of pride seeing his team relaxed and happy.

As he walked back towards the mansion, he passed by the tennis court and gym, both of which were being used by the employees. It was clear that the facilities were appreciated and well-maintained, a testament to the staff's dedication.

Returning to his study, John sat down at his desk, reflecting on the day's events. The meeting with Laura and her team had been a success, and he felt confident about the future. He knew that building strong relationships with his employees and potential partners would be key to achieving his goals.

As the afternoon turned into evening, John decided to take a break and enjoy the mansion's amenities. He changed into casual clothes and headed to the game room, where he spent a few hours playing pool with Roy and relaxing. It was a welcome respite from the day's responsibilities and rapport.

Later, as he sat in the home theatre watching a series—MONEY HEIST, John felt a sense of contentment. The mansion was not just a place of luxury; it was a symbol of his hard work and determination. He knew there would be challenges ahead, but he was ready to face them.

As the credits rolled, John's phone rang again. This time, it was Roy. "Mr. John, there's a guest at the gate. They say they have urgent business with you."
