The silver needle penetrated, and a warm current followed the needle's tip into the body. Zhiyan flicked the tail of the needle with her hand, leaned over, and listened intently to the child's chest, which produced a crackling sound as if the Yang Energy being infused was having some effect.
"What is she doing?"
"Yeah, can stabbing a few times actually cure the person?"
"It's too mystical. I think an Elixir is more practical!"
"Forget about it, even an Alchemist wouldn't waste an Elixir worth hundreds of Gold Coins on a stranger."
The surrounding debate rose again. Zhiyan remained as calm as ever, her delicate and tender face unchanged, except her pupils darkened slightly, and a glint flickered in her eyes. When her fingers touched the child's chest, she felt an inexplicable intense heat and a strong pulling force that drove her downward.
"Ah, what is she doing?"
"Even though it's a child, it's not appropriate to strip naked in the street!"
"Tsk tsk, this little girl is really open-minded."
Zhiyan undressed the child completely, her lips twitched twice as the surrounding comments continued. When her gaze fell on the lower body of the child, she froze in place!
"Hiss!" A sharp intake of breath erupted from the crowd, who collectively stepped back as if faced with a venomous snake or scorpion!
"Ahh!" A woman screamed again, angry and scared as she saw her own treasure being tortured by that thing, her body trembling fiercely.
"Ah, it's, it's a Frog Demon!" A gasp sounded suddenly, and everyone looked at the green mass on the child's lower body with guarded faces. A thumb-sized Frog Demon was clung to the bend of the thigh, rhythmically absorbing the child's Yang Energy.
Lin Yiyun's pupils contracted, and his handsome, sunny face revealed a hint of realization. He watched the creature with some after-fear, thankful it hadn't approached him. Otherwise...
Just thinking about the Frog Demon entering that place made him shiver with cold, and his ink-colored eyes darkened again. His gaze towards Zhiyan carried a hint of amusement, wondering how this young girl would handle the situation next.
Frog Demons are ranked 111th among the Earth-level Demonic Beasts of the Mainland. Small in size, they are skilled at camouflage and specialize in absorbing Yang Energy, and are a cunning type of Demonic Beast that coexists with humans. This creature evolved from a frog, agile and lithe, especially the green skin on its surface, which is greasy and slippery with strong toxicity. Contact with it would result in death within a day.
At this moment, the child's lower body was already swollen and red, with toxins spreading and continually expanding outward. The onlookers moved back and back, their faces uniformly filled with horror. Anyone touched by a Frog Demon was undoubtedly doomed, unless, of course, you could get your hands on a Fourth-grade Detoxifying Pill within half a day.
"Guagua, guagua!" Seemingly aware of the surroundings, the Frog Demon croaked twice, its inky eyes rolling around. Zhiyan's gaze flashed, and before the crowd could react, she picked up the silver needle and stabbed at the Frog Demon!
"Swoosh!" The crowd broke out in a collective sweat, watching the naive young girl with speechless faces. If the Frog Demon could be so easily dealt with, would they need to be so wary of it? After all, she's just a girl...
However, before they could finish their astonishment, they witnessed a shocking scene. The green-skinned Frog Demon, seeing that it was in a bad situation, took the opportunity to try and escape. Zhiyan was not fast, but she managed to immobilize it just a second before it could flee!
"Trying to run after causing trouble?" Zhiyan snorted lightly, her clear eyes like water shimmering with a hint of disdain, and her gaze turned to the young man by her side, "Lend me your dagger!"
Pin Yiyun, puzzled, unbuckled the dagger from his waist. Zhiyan took the dagger, flipped the Frog Demon over to expose its white belly, and made a cut. A strong fishy smell gushed out, causing everyone to cover their noses, flapping their sleeves while complaining. The odor, initially mild, grew increasingly intense as it mixed with the air. It was so nauseating that several people couldn't help but vomit, and in fact, quite a few had already done so.
Wrapping the Frog Demon in cloth, Zhiyan dropped its juices onto the child's swollen area, coating it thoroughly. To be safe, she also fed the remaining liquid into the child's mouth, which resulted in continuous retching.
Pin Yiyun stared unblinkingly at Zhiyan, observing her calm and skilled movements, and glimpsing the unintended confidence that occasionally shone through her pupils. He suddenly felt that maybe this girl was not as simple as he had thought. The juice of the Frog Demon was foul-smelling; most people would either bury it on the spot or burn it, yet she deliberately applied it to the child's wounds. Could there be a deeper meaning to this?
Then she applied two silver needles. This time, the Yang Energy coursed through his body unhindered. The child's chest heaved violently, and with a "puh" sound, dark blood mixed with the body fluids of the Frog Demon sprayed from his mouth.
"Little girl, what's this?" The woman had been holding back for a long time but finally couldn't help asking.
"Everything in the world operates in a cycle of cause and effect. Everything has its opposite. The surface of this Frog Demon is undoubtedly poisonous, yet its bodily fluids are a miraculous antidote. Now that the poison has been neutralized and the congealed blood expelled, he will wake up within half an hour!" Zhiyan checked the child's pulse, then spoke with certainty.
"Ah, really?" Overwhelmed with joy, the woman cried tears of happiness, clutching Zhiyan's hand, at a loss for what to do.
"The rest is up to you. It's best to find a stretcher; his body is fragile right now and needs proper care!" Zhiyan stood up from the ground, looked at Pin Yiyun impassively, and then left without a trace, leaving a crowd of people sighing in amazement...
By the time she returned to the mansion, it was evening. As she walked into the courtyard, she saw Ouyang Peng anxiously giving instructions that sounded scary!
"Ah, Miss Zhiyan!" A servant with sharp eyes suddenly spotted the quietly standing Zhiyan. An unprecedented smile bloomed on his ordinary face, as if he had solved a huge problem. He even let out a relieved sigh without any attempt to hide it.
"Yanyan, where have you been?" Ouyang Peng rushed over in two quick strides, pulling her into an embrace with trembling arms, asking as if he had just been through a scare. He thought he might never see her again, and he thanked heaven that his Yanyan hadn't left!
"The mansion was too stuffy, so I just went for a stroll," Zhiyan replied, nestling quietly into Ouyang Peng's shoulder. Did he worry about her leaving? But one day, she would have to leave this place!
"Next time you go out, let Daddy accompany you. Daddy knows many fun places. Whatever you want to eat, Daddy can take you. Remember, you're not alone; you still have Daddy." Ouyang Peng rested his chin on her head, speaking with a warmth that revealed his heart. He had been so worried during her absence that afternoon, and if it hadn't been for fear of the previous incident happening again, he would have mobilized the family's resources to find her.
Ouyang Jin came back from the front yard and saw Zhiyan, whom he hadn't seen for a long time. His deep and dark eyes flickered with a sense of disturbance.
"You little pest, come over and apologize to Yanyan. If you dare to spout nonsense again, beware I break your legs!" Ouyang Peng's voice hardened, and he scolded with a commanding tone.
Ouyang Zhiyan looked up and noticed Ouyang Jin standing not far away. Their eyes met in the air, but Zhiyan quickly lost interest and looked away, "Daddy, you're overreacting. As long as Daddy acknowledges Yanyan, how other people see me doesn't matter!"
