Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: The Universe Preserves Life

It was as if she had drunk a potion of awakening; in just one second, she had returned to her optimal state, and if this were used to sober up...

A thought flashed by, and a sharp glint flickered in her eyes.

Oh, she almost treated the Qing Xinrui as an ordinary flower, her dark brows furrowed tightly, and a hint of displeasure flared on her delicate and tender little face.

In her previous life, she had recognized countless herbs, and now, having been reborn, she was making such a fundamental mistake. If it were an ordinary flower, how come there were no bees or butterflies in sight? Moreover, although the fragrance of the flower was strong, it was contained within a certain range. No scent spread beyond ten steps from this sea of flowers; could it be that someone had cast a spell over this flower garden?

Looking around, she found nothing unusual, and Zhiyan could no longer care about anything else, fully concentrating on the herbs before her eyes.

The nature of a woman is to love beauty, and these flowers before her, both medicinal and aesthetically pleasing, were both beautiful and practical. In addition to potion-making and alchemy, they could be used for pleasure, to adjust the mood, or to decorate a space—perfectly aligning with her wishes.

Right, there was also perfume blending. In her previous life, she was a bona fide perfumer, but due to her family's circumstances, she had had to abandon this hobby mid-way. It remained a great regret in her heart to this day. Reborn, she lived solely for herself; all that she had wanted to do but had not been able to, in this life, she planned to reclaim them one by one.

Her gaze grew sharp, determination crossing her delicate and tender little face. Her clear eyes shined with an unusual luster, her pink dress fluttering, blending seamlessly with the flowers around her...

Filled with excitement and joy, Zhiyan crouched down and pulled out digging tools from her Spatial Bracelet, carefully excavating the Qing Xinrui in front of her. At that moment, she felt as if standing before a mountain of gold, and all she had to do was figure out how to quickly move this mountain into her Qiankun Space.

After successfully digging up the first Qing Xinrui, Zhiyan turned towards the next flower, a pink Luopo Die. The flower resembled a butterfly, its splendid color interspersed with some dark speckles, exuding a noble yet decadent charm.

The pink figure crouched before the sea of flowers, radiating a faint luster, occasionally pouting, sometimes smiling. Every emotion was drawn by the flowers before her, with only this brilliant existence in her heart and eyes, oblivious to the danger drawing near.

When Zhiyan moved the fifth Yanyan Tail Flower, the calm sea of flowers suddenly rippled. The flying petals trembled violently, and a dazzling stream of light shone from behind her. At the edge of the flower garden, a strong current of air arose and then, like a vacuum shield, enveloped her along with the plants.

Her body trembled, and a strong feeling of suffocation hit her head-on. Zhiyan narrowed her eyes, alarm bells ringing in her heart; there was indeed something tricky about this flower garden.

"This is sacred ground of the flower garden, not a place for anyone to trespass," a shrill female voice sounded, causing Zhiyan's eardrums to sting. Then, with a flicker of light, a purple-red figure shot out from the center of the flower garden. As she appeared, a powerful current of air rushed toward Zhiyan.

"Hmph, since you've picked my flowers, then leave your hands and feet as fertilizer," a cold snort followed, and then four solid beams of light broke through the air, aiming for Zhiyan's hands and feet.

Her pupils contracted sharply, a wave of nausea stirring in her heart. This suffocating sensation of despair made her want to lash out in madness. Under the other's gaze, she couldn't move, only able to watch as the blades struck toward her, helpless.

Was this the consequence of her casually picking herbs? She refused to accept it.

With a chill encroaching and the blades nearing, Zhiyan could even feel that bone-chilling sense of pain. Her eyes suddenly closed, and her graceful figure vanished in an instant. The blades struck emptily, hitting the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

The purplish-red figure trembled violently, eyes beneath the white gauze shooting out a light filled with disbelief. Gone, how was that possible?

Hiding in the Qiankun Space, Zhiyan patted her chest in fear, barely escaping with her life.

"These herbs are pretty indeed, could it be they are just for decorating the space?" Old Fei stroked his beard, his eyes narrowing into a line.

Ever since he saw the effects of the Spatial Bracelet's planting capabilities, Yanyan had been moving small trees, saplings, and flowers from time to time. Today, she even risked her life for these common varieties. He hoped she wasn't telling him it was just because they were pretty.

"Though common, each possesses its own unique value, and that's enough for me," Zhiyan said softly, her eyes squinting. To her, these plants didn't need to have more value as long as she liked them.

"You girl, always full of reasoning. I don't care what you like, but you must always prioritize your safety in everything you do. That's my only request," said Old Fei, his gaze locked onto Zhiyan with stern seriousness.

The girl seemed capricious, but in reality, she was indifferent and lonely. Apart from her interest in Alchemy, few things touched her heart. If growing flowers and plants could make her happy, he, as an old man, would wholeheartedly agree, but her safety had to come first.

"Don't worry, I won't joke with my life." Zhiyan smiled lightly, warmth flooding her heart, her clear pupils shining with a crystalline glow. With Qiankun Space at her disposal, she at least had the means to save her own life.

The flower sea was sealed off, and she would not be able to leave for a while, but she was not in a hurry. Qiankun Space had everything she needed, at least enough to fill her stomach.

After planting and watering the newly moved plants and flowers, she picked a few green fruits and sat on a vine-covered swing, gently swaying. Flowers blooming abundantly throughout the space, butterflies fluttering, it was a scene brimming with vitality. A gentle breeze carried various herbal fragrances to her nose, bringing an indescribable sense of comfort and pleasantness.

Biting into a fruit, the sweet juice flooded her taste buds, momentarily washing away all troubles. Once those plants had grown, she might well start blending perfumes. In this era of crude cosmetics, she could even imagine the sensation that perfumes might cause.

Two hours passed, and the flower sea outside was finally unlocked. Using the Qiankun Space and with Old Fei's soul interference, Zhiyan successfully escaped the control of the purple-robed woman. Although the flower sea was valuable to her, she wouldn't approach it again without sufficient strength.

Arriving at the entrance of the Sage Class, all the students were sitting properly in their places, with Luo Feng as the instructor, reading the school rules and regulations to the new students as customary.

"Excuse me for a moment," a crisp and pleasant voice came from the door, causing everyone to turn their heads and sweep their gaze toward the delicately pretty young girl.

"Wow, so cute, who is this little girl?" a female student said with starry eyes.

All the young men felt their hearts light up, and upon seeing the girl's features clearly, they were smitten, their gazes heatedly fixed on that delicate figure. Could it be that such a cute and exquisite girl had walked into the wrong class?

"Little Yanyan." Shasha sprang up from her seat, her light purple dress tracing an arc in the air, and in the next second, she stood before Zhiyan, "Why did you take so long? Oh right, which class are you in? Do you want me to keep you company…" she rattled on. Zhiyan couldn't help but rub her ears, a hint of helplessness surfacing in her heart.
