Early in the morning, the bright sunlight shone through the windows, but within the barracks of the new recruits, the scene was entirely gloomy—emotionally, that is.
After breakfast, the new recruits silently packed up all their belongings, thinking of the military transport trucks they had seen on the training ground and feeling an instant wave of depression and oppression.
During training, they had all been eagerly counting down the days until the end of the three-month basic training, longing for it to be over as soon as possible. But now that it was actually ending, they found they did not want it to end at all; the end signified... separation.
Three months—that's ninety-two days. Over these ninety-two days, they had evolved from strangers to friends, from indifference to commitment, from aloofness to unity; they didn't want to part ways. If possible, they even wished to continue training like this. But reality was not theirs to decide.
Separation... was imminent!
