Qin Shaoqing wasn't the type to be clueless, and he promptly corrected himself by answering the question he was asked before.
"Don't worry, I have made arrangements with her, and she will come again at this time tomorrow afternoon."
...
Currently, Ye Liangyan was a sophomore majoring in medicine at Shengjing Medical University. After leaving Shengjing Hospital, she took the bus back to school, as she still had two classes to attend in the afternoon.
It wasn't until she finished her classes and returned to her dorm room that she felt she could catch her breath.
She was alone in the dorm room; her roommates hadn't come back yet.
Sitting on her own stool, her thoughts inevitably drifted to the matter of going home today.
Marriage...
She was only twenty-one this year, and she had never even considered matters of marriage. But now, suddenly, she found herself engaged, and she didn't even know if the other party's face was round or flat.
And yet, she had agreed to it herself!
Thinking about it now, she realized she had been too impulsive at the moment!
She knew all too well what her second sister was like—playful, noisy, selfish, and spoiled. Spoiled by their grandmother and father to the heavens, a big part of her second sister's reluctance to marry was simply that she hadn't had her fill of fun. Hearing about Young Master Jiang's car accident had only intensified her sister's aversion to the marriage!
But what if, by some chance, her sister came back regretting her decision and wanted to snatch Young Master Jiang back? What would become of Ye Liangyan then?
Her second sister had always been somewhat capricious and willful, and since she could never see eye to eye with her, it wouldn't be surprising if she did just that.
In the end, the worst outcome seemed to be a divorce and being kicked out of the Jiang Family.
Well, that might be a relief actually; then she could finally breathe easy.
An ex-wife, the third Miss of the Ye Family, would she have any value left?
...
Her mind wandered with these random thoughts when Ye Liangyan suddenly remembered another important matter.
Pulling out her phone, she made a call.
Once the call was connected, she said politely, "Hello, Mrs. Song, how are you?"
"Is that you, little Ye? What's the matter?" came the gentle voice of the woman.
Mrs. Song was the mother of the student she tutored at home.
"It's like this, I have something to attend to tomorrow afternoon, so I would like to ask for leave. I will make up the lesson on Sunday evening, if that's okay with you?"
When Doctor Qin had asked her to come again the next afternoon at the hospital, she'd immediately thought of the tutoring lesson scheduled for tomorrow night. She hesitated for a moment but ultimately felt it was necessary to first check on the injured driver.
Mrs. Song was a bit surprised, but she didn't make a fuss, "Alright, I will tell Pipi."
Pipi, that was the name of the student she was currently tutoring, whose full name was Song Bohui.
After hanging up the phone, the door of the dorm room was forcefully pushed open, and someone patted her shoulder, "Liangyan, you're back!"
Ye Liangyan turned her head and smiled.
It was her roommate Ning Xiaoxiao.
"Yep", she nodded.
Ning Xiaoxiao slumped down beside her, "Aiyo, I'm so tired. I had four classes today."
There were four people in their dormitory in total. Ning Xiaoxiao was a nursing student, Xie Wanyao studied traditional Chinese medicine, and both she and Xu Anjing were clinical medicine majors.
Ever since starting college, she had insisted on living on campus. Her father and mother initially disagreed; her father thought it would look bad, and her mother was a bit worried about her. It was only after her persistence that they finally consented.
However, dorm rooms with classmates from the same grade were almost full, so she ended up in the current four-person room.
Soon after, another roommate, Xie Wanyao, returned.
Xie Wanyao, just like her name suggested.
She was very beautiful, the kind of girl who made a delicate and gentle impression at first glance. Yet, her phoenix eyes added a touch of innate coquettish charm. With a glance, she could appear stunning and sultry.
Yet in reality, she was quite distant!
Although Ye Liangyan also seemed a bit cold at first glance, once familiar, she was fairly friendly. However, having shared the room with Xie Wanyao for over a year, other than necessary communication, there seldom was any additional conversation.
She always kept to herself, and her pretty face rarely showed a smile.
Many people gossiped behind her back in the campus, calling her proud and stuck-up, and she had even been dubbed the "Ice Queen of the Campus".
To all this, Xie Wanyao seemed utterly indifferent.
She continued to do as she pleased.
So when she entered the dorm room, after only casting a casual glance at Ye Liangyan and Ning Xiaoxiao, she said nothing, grabbed some things, and left again.
After she had gone, Ning Xiaoxiao couldn't hold back any longer, "Hey, Liangyan, don't you think she treats us like we're invisible?"
