As the evening approached, Yan Luoxi sat on the steps in front of the villa, reading a script while playing with her dog. In her hand was a colorful beach ball that she threw for Meimei to fetch and then threw it again when Meimei brought it back.
Meimei hadn't played with her for a long time and was very excited.
After playing for a while, she called out, "Meimei, come and sit with sister for a bit."
With a leaping jump, Meimei positioned itself next to her, squatting at her feet. The two, one human and one dog, created an exceptionally harmonious scene. Yan Luoxi tilted her head to look at it, "Do you miss Daddy?"
"Woof woof," Meimei barked as it looked at her, its canine eyes seeming to see right through her thoughts.
She pouted, "Don't look at me like that, I'm not missing him. It's just that the villa is so big, it feels kind of empty and a bit scary. Having someone else around always makes me feel safer."
