Chapter 2 - Chapter One

Gray walls and darkness. That's what Tsuki opened her eyes to. Groaning, she sits up and looks around. Once her eyes fully adjust to the darkness, she stands up and begins to explore the cave she seems to find herself in. Seemingly unfazed by the sudden change of scenery, underneath that is still dead eyes, believing as if she is just having an unusual dream before she finally succumbs to the noose around her neck at home.

'it's a dream' she thinks. Reaching her hand out to try and touch the wall, she feels the cold and rough touch of stone. Dreams aren't normally this vivid.

With a jerk of her hand, Tsuki takes a wobbly step away from the wall. She begins patting her body, feeling her face, then her neck, and lastly her heartbeat.

Alive. She's still alive.

She hunches over, hands still over her chest, feeling the soft and steady rhythm of her heart. Then she laughs. Rather she bellows. Laughter that would send shivers down your spine and make you want to avoid whoever made that sound. Because they would obviously sound insane.

After a few minutes, Tsuki finally regains some of her composure and continues to walk, dragging her hand alongside the stone walls of the cave. Soon she comes to a bend, revealing at the end of the tunnel like cave is a light. A way outside.

Picking up the pace, Tsuki makes her way to the exit, revealing the bright light of the sun. She squints from the sudden change of brightness and looks beyond after her eyes adjust. Before her lies the vast ocean. Waves lap the shore, seeping into the small grains of sand below. The sun gently shines its warm rays on her face.

Now that she can properly see, Tsuki looks down at her body noticing a slight change in attire. Instead of the sweatpants and hoodie she wore when she "died", she now wears an old and tanned tunic with brown trousers that show slight wear and tear.

Other than her new attire, nothing else seemed to have changed about her. Tsuki still remains a seventeen year old girl with short black hair tied into a small tuft. Her jawline, more defined than most, holds her Japanese and Chinese features in a simple manner. To make her seem even more masculine, she is flat as a board, not that it ever seemed to matter to her though.

Satisfied after taking a look at herself to make sure nothing seemed out of place, other than her clothes, she looks around and spots a small path leading down to the sandy shore. Being as she has never seen the ocean before, let alone a beach, she progresses down the path to get a closer view.

Reaching the sand, Tsuki walks along the beach in silence. Though in that silence, her mind is in turmoil. ' What is happening? Why am I here? What even is here? Why am I not wearing any shoes? Whatever.'

She contemplated in silence as she walked along the beach, listening to the waves lapping up the shore and the occasional bird sounding out a high melody. It was peaceful, serene. Not something she was used to after everything turned sour back at home.

How come she wasn't home? She still remembers everything perfectly. Her home, school, the bullying, the pain, the note, the suicide. It's all there, in her memories. So how come she doesn't remember how she got here?

'GROWL'

And now she's hungry. 'Shit'
