Chapter 44 - Chapter 30: long time no see Adam

Deputy Mike found himself on the outskirts of the bustling festival grounds, seeking a moment of respite amidst the chaotic revelry. He leaned against a wooden fence, taking slow drags from his cigarette as he observed the swirling activity around him. Laughter and music filled the air, blending with the tantalizing scents of food stalls and the vibrant glow of carnival lights.

It was then that Linda, a young woman with an air of uncertainty, approached him tentatively. "Hi, officer." she greeted him, her voice a mix of nervousness and determination.

Mike, exhaling smoke, turned to face her with a hint of amusement in his eyes. He nodded in acknowledgment, his gaze assessing her as she stood before him.

"I think I took a wrong turn. Can you tell me how to get backstage?" Linda asked, her words tinged with nervousness.

Mike's smirk widened knowingly. "Another wrong turn, huh?" he remarked, his tone casual yet tinged with suggestive undertones.

Mike's interest piqued further, his husky voice lowering as he leaned in closer. "I can show you," he said suggestively, the implication hanging between them. "But you know the catch" he added, his gaze lingering on her with a mix of desire and lustfulness.

Linda's cheeks flushed slightly, caught off guard by Mike's suggestive response. She bit her lip, a mixture of anticipation and hesitation evident in her demeanor. "Oh officer, I will do anything to get a pass." she replied softly, her voice carrying a note of flirtatiousness.

...

Unbeknownst to them, inside the Fairlake Sheriff Station:

Sheriff Angela Carter paced anxiously, clutching her walkie-talkie as she attempted to reach her deputies scattered throughout the festival grounds. "Shit, Deputy Biggs, come in." she muttered, frustration evident in her voice.

No response came. She tried again. "Junior, it's Angela. Come in." she called out, her voice tinged with growing concern.

Still receiving no response, Angela continued her attempts to establish communication. "Mike, Kevin, you guys out there?" she tried once more, her worry mounting as the silence persisted.

Maynard Odets, locked in his cell, seized the opportunity to taunt her. "Looks like you're all alone, you dumb bitch." he sneered, his voice dripping with malice.

Sheriff Angela sighed heavily, her shoulders slumping momentarily as she faced the reality of the situation. The festival had drawn most of her deputies away, leaving her isolated in the station with potential danger looming.

Meanwhile, Billy sat quietly in his cell, his expression a mix of confusion and concern. Across from him, Adam Wilson remained composed, his intense green eyes locked on Sheriff Angela. He absorbed the seriousness of their situation, his mind clearly at work. Beside Adam, Porter Harmss sat in the adjoining cell, observing silently, awaited his friend's next move, ready to act on Adam's command.

Adam's voice cut through the tension, addressing Sheriff Angela directly. "Sheriff." he called out calmly, capturing her attention.

Angela turned to face Adam, her expression questioning. "What?" she responded, her voice a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

Adam met her gaze steadily. "Let me get out of here," he proposed firmly, "and I'll show you how to handle that thing." he declared, his gaze unwavering

Sheriff Angela considered his words carefully, weighing the risks and potential benefits of releasing Adam from his cell. The dimly lit station felt charged with anticipation, the uncertain outcome of their confrontation with Alpha looming ominously in the air.

Sheriff Angela's brow furrowed as she considered Adam's proposal. She knew Adam's history, the determination that had driven him for years. In that moment, faced with uncertainty and the looming threat outside, she found herself contemplating the unexpected alliance that Adam's offer implied.

The sheriff's station buzzed with tension, the air thick with the weight of impending confrontation.

....

Inside the dimly lit motel room, the atmosphere had shifted from anticipation to mild frustration as Julian, Gus, Lita, and Cruz grappled with the sudden power outage.

Gus took charge, lighting up candles scattered around the room to cast a soft, flickering glow. Their dim illumination barely penetrated the shadows, casting dancing patterns on the walls and adding a slight warmth to the otherwise chilly room.

Julian muttered under his breath, clearly annoyed by the situation. "Four tickets at 90 bucks a pop, that's 360 bucks wasted." he grumbled, his frustration evident in his tone.

Seeing Gus light the candles, Julian couldn't resist a sarcastic remark. "Great. So we sit around in the dark all night. So much fun." he quipped sarcastically, rolling his eyes for emphasis. "It's great." he added with a touch of bitterness.

Gus sighed in response, shaking his head at Julian's cynicism, knowing there was little he could do to improve the situation.

Cruz, sensing the tension, decided to break the silence and distract herself. "You know what? I'm going to go and take Billy some food," she announced, rising from her seat.

Lita, glancing out the window, noticed the widespread outage. "You think all the power's out in the jail as well?" she mused aloud, her voice tinged with concern.

"Yeah. Looks like the whole town's out." Cruz confirmed, observing the darkness stretching beyond the motel's confines.

Julian scoffed, his frustration evident. "Yeah. No, of course not. The whole town's out. The whole town's out," he repeated sardonically. "At the concert, having a good time like we should be." he added with a hint of bitterness, feeling the sting of missed opportunities.

His friends responded with muted reactions, clearly not sharing his perspective on the situation.

Gus, trying to be practical, grabbed a flashlight and handed it to Cruz. "Here, take this with you." he offered, a small gesture to ease her trip.

Cruz accepted the flashlight gratefully. "Oh, thanks." she replied, tucking it securely into her hand.

"See you guys later." Cruz called out as she headed for the door, preparing to navigate the darkened paths to the sheriff station.

Lita bid her farewell softly. "See you, babe." she said, a note of concern in her voice.

Gus offered a simple "See you." his voice tinged with worry for Cruz's safety in the now unfamiliar darkness.

Julian, momentarily subdued, simply nodded and said, "Bye." his thoughts drifting to their predicament and the uncertain events unfolding in the town of Fairlake. "

....

Cruz Wilson briskly walked toward the sheriff's station, her path illuminated by the beam of her flashlight. Suddenly, a figure blocked her way. She aimed her light at them and demanded, "Who-who are you?"

The figure, wearing a sinister mask, remained silent for a moment before slowly advancing towards her, emitting a chilling, maniacal laugh. Cruz screamed and turned to flee.

As she ran, she glanced back only to find the masked figure had disappeared. Heart pounding, she sprinted onward, but as she looked ahead, the figure stood directly in her path. Before she could react, he lunged forward, plunging a knife into her abdomen.

Cruz gasped in shock, clutching her stomach as blood poured from her mouth. The masked figure then swiftly removed his disguise, revealing a grotesquely disfigured face. It was Three Finger, known for his maniacal laughter and brutal acts.

Before Cruz could comprehend the horror unfolding, Three Finger tore at her intestines, consuming them voraciously before her eyes. She could feel her life slipping away as she stared helplessly at her assailant.

In a final, desperate attempt to save herself, Cruz screamed in agony and terror, her voice echoing through the desolate streets. But it was futile. With merciless efficiency, Three Finger moved to deliver a fatal blow, ending her suffering and extinguishing the last flickers of her life.

Darkness closed in around Cruz as she succumbed to the brutality of her attacker, her body limp and lifeless on the cold pavement.

In that moment Cruz Died.

...

Meanwhile, back at the motel room where Gus and Lita were lost in a moment of intimacy, Julian found himself awkwardly interrupting their affectionate exchange.

"Guys? Guys!!" Julian called out, trying to get their attention.

Gus and Lita, still wrapped up in each other, finally acknowledged Julian's presence.

"Yeah?" Gus responded casually, his attention divided between Julian and Lita.

Julian sighed, feeling a bit uncomfortable breaking their moment. "I am going to go see Billy." he announced, hoping to give them some privacy.

"Cool." Gus replied nonchalantly, his focus shifting back to Lita with a longing gaze.

Julian nodded and added, "And give you guys some privacy." before turning to leave the room.

As Julian made his way towards the sheriff's station, determined to check on Billy, his thoughts were abruptly interrupted when a sudden splash of water drenched him from behind. Stunned and infuriated, he turned to see two teenagers darting away into the night.

"Son of a bitch!!" Julian cursed loudly, his frustration evident as he watched the culprits disappear into the darkness, taunting him with a sarcastic Halloween greeting.

"Fuck this shit, I should have gone to the festival." Julian muttered under his breath, shaking his head in annoyance. He glanced down at his wet hoodie and muttered, "This sucks!!" Feeling thoroughly annoyed and slightly defeated, Julian continued on his way, his mood soured by the unexpected prank.

.....

As Adam and Porter stretched and readied themselves in the outside in the jail area of the Fairlake Sheriff Station, Sheriff Angela approached them with a look that mingled concern with authority. She understood Adam's intense desire for revenge, but she also knew it was crucial to keep a tight grip on the situation.

"Look kid," Sheriff Angela began, her voice serious yet empathetic, "I understand you have your own reasons, your own stories. But you have to follow my rules, understand?"

Adam met Sheriff Angela's gaze, his green eyes reflecting determination and a simmering anger. He nodded slightly, acknowledging her authoritywhile keeping his focus unwavering.

Sheriff Angela paused, feeling the weight of the situation. "If I had more staff available, I wouldn't have let you out of those cells without more questioning." she admitted, her voice tinged with concern.

Adam's response was unwavering and direct. "Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere until I've taken care of that bastard." he asserted firmly, his conviction palpable.

Porter stood beside Adam, nodding in agreement. "I'm with Adam on this." he affirmed, his voice calm yet resolute.

Inside his cell, Billy, feeling overlooked, voiced his concern. "Wait, what about me?" he asked, his tone edged with anxiety.

Sheriff Angela turned to Billy, her expression firm yet reassuring. "You stay put. Right now, we've got enough to handle here." she explained, leaving no room for argument.

Maynard, always provocative, laughed psychotically from his own cell. "Enough? Haha, what a joke," he taunted, his voice dripping with disdain. He turned his gaze towards Sheriff Angela provocatively. "Do you think you can beat Alpha with this little army?"

Billy couldn't contain his frustration. "Will you shut the fuck up?" he snapped, glaring across the cell at him.

Adam, catching Maynard's taunts, approached the cell bars purposefully. He locked eyes with Maynard, his expression deadly serious.

"Hey" Adam began, his voice low and intense as he faced Maynard head-on.

Maynard, meeting Adam's gaze, felt a flicker of fear despite himself. He swallowed nervously, momentarily taken aback by the intensity in Adam's eyes.

"You're going to witness it soon," Adam continued, his voice laced with quiet menace. "your sons will die by my hands. I'll carve them up piece by piece like the animals they are. And after them, you're next."

Maynard's bravado faltered, his earlier laughter replaced by a cold dread that crept into his features.

Sheriff Angela stepped in, her voice firm and commanding. "Adam, enough with the threats." she admonished firmly, her eyes conveying concern for Adam's state of mind and determination to keep order.

Adam turned to Sheriff Angela, his expression unreadable yet compliant. Without a word, he nodded, acknowledging her authority even as his determination simmered beneath the surface.

Porter sighed quietly, shaking his head at the tension in the room. He exchanged a brief glance with Adam, silently conveying solidarity and shared purpose in their mission.

Suddenly, the entrance door to the sheriff's station was kicked open with a resounding crash, drawing everyone's attention.

As the entrance door to the sheriff's station exploded inward, the splintering wood and echoing crash seemed to slow down time itself. The disfigured trio stood in the doorway, their grotesque forms framed by the splintered remains of the door. the three disfigured minions appeared like nightmarish apparitions, their distorted features illuminated eerily by the dim emergency lights flickering overhead.

But it was Alpha who commanded attention as he followed them in. His red hair seemed to blaze in the dimness, and his eyes, piercing and crimson, scanned the room with predatory calmness. Each step he took resonated with an ominous weight, as if the air itself grew heavy in his presence.

[A Little Death

Song by The Neighbourhood]

Lyrics :

Dancing through the night

A vodka and a sprite

A glimpse of the silhouettes

A night that they never forget

Touch me, yeah

I want you to touch me there

Make me feel like I am breathing

Feel like I am human

Touch me, yeah

I want you to touch me there

Make me feel like I am breathing

Feel like I am human

(Must listen to this while Reading this)

...

Adam's voice, filled with months of suppressed fury and hatred, shattered the tense silence. "Alpha!!!!" His shout reverberated through the room, a visceral expression of rage and anticipation that hung in the air.

Alpha's smirk widened, his expression one of chilling confidence as he continued to advance. His movements were deliberate and unhurried, each step a deliberate stride towards his nemesis. The dim light played off his features, casting shadows that seemed to dance with malevolent intent.

Alpha, smirking confidently, stepped forward into the station, his gaze locked onto Adam with chilling intent. "Long time no see, Adam." he greeted, his voice carrying an unsettling calmness amidst the chaos.

The moment seemed frozen in time as Alpha and Adam stood locked in a silent confrontation. In the background, Sheriff Angela's grip tightened on her flashlight, her expression a mixture of apprehension and resolve. Around her, the others watched with a mixture of fear and determination, their fates now intertwined with the unfolding confrontation between Adam and Alpha.
