Alex looked at his status and a looked at the law section and once he did, satisfactory smile came on his face.
He had been continuously improving his control over various elements. The first one he started to learn was the Lightning element. Alex found out that the more he tried to comprehend the law of lightning, the more complex it had started to become.
He did not understand about the percentage bar at first as he thought that he simply needed to put more energy into his elemental attacks to make them more stronger and effective against the stronger foe.
His logic wasn't misplaced at all. After all, he had already tried to do things his own way, and they had worked out pretty well as he had created different types of attacks till now based on different elements.
But once he saw that the percentage of the Lightning element was still stuck at 0% even after creating a bunch of attacks, then he understood that this creating and using more thunder related techniques won't increase the percentage at all. He was spamming the techniques cause he had thought that it might work in a way similar as levelling up skills in an RPG, i.e. the more you use them the more experience you get.
Alex then tried different means but none worked, but then he suddenly got and idea and checked out the Book of Cultivation for this.
And not surprisingly, there was a whole section about the Laws. He read the description and understood that whatever he was doing till now was merely a joke compared to the actual work that was required to skill up.
He found out that once mastered, these laws would be of great help. With just these laws alone, one could become a top force in the cultivation world.
He found out that to increase this bar, he needed to 'comprehend' laws.
This was going to be troublesome as in this world, only the common laws were comprehended by the top cultivators such as fire, ice, wind etc.
Alex wanted to go beyond the traditional ones, he wanted to master every single one there was. His goal was to be a formidable being who others could only look up to, yet could not reach him.
He needed that kind of strength to truly be able to change this world. In the world he would be creating, there would be many beings who might be in the same cultivation realm as him but none of them shall be stronger than him, neither individually nor collectively.
He shall be the Strongest throughout all ages!
Alex then found out that all the laws that had ever existed were explained in depth in this book. If he were to master them completely then, even the Heretic God would pale in comparison to him.
Alex had then started to comprehend the Lightning laws and it took him around 2 weeks and his bar had reached 20 percent.
Once the bar reached 20 percent, Alex's mind was flooded with knowledge, this was the knowledge of techniques that he although found in the Book of Cultivation later but did not find any method of gaining it.
It wasn't exactly a technique but he got the ability to use the more advanced form of the normal lightning, this was the:
Purple Lightning!
Purple lightning was supposed to be showered on a cultivator during their thunder tribulation on reaching the Divine Tribulation Realm. The minimum damage this could do was to instantly turn a
Divine Soul Expert to ashes.
This was summoned using his own energy and the cost was around 25 percent of his current energy reserves which was currently comparable to that of a Divine Origin Expert.
This was something that could be kept as a trump card in life threatening situations.
The only shortcoming of it was that he could not increase or decrease the damage of this yet, but Alex believed that he would be able to do so once the bar progresses and that did happen except for the fact that he found that the minimum damage it will do was capable of turning a Divine Soul Expert to ashes and the maximum was kept around critically damaging or even killing a Divine Tribulation realm being.
But it could not be improved or reduced any further.
But, what Alex could do was to mix it with all the techniques he had created and increase their damages to the above said levels.
Laws of the Universe are truly amazing!
Alex then started to comprehend the other laws too but did not give them too much attention for now.
Alex even took one of the most crucial decision of his life during this time, and that was to start killing beasts and eat them.
This was something that he was avoiding till now but he knew that in the type of world he was in and with his powers, he would have to do this one day.
Alex did not convert anyone to his shadows for now, just got used to killing beasts.
He cooked their meat for himself and as well as for Qingyue, who was genuinely surprised and impressed with Alex, as in this world, it was expected by the society that only woman should be the one who is cooking, yet Alex had amazed her once again.
On the contrary, she herself did not know how to cook at all.
Alex even taught her how to cook and she had even cooked for him once and the result was a black charcoal looking piece. But she did not give up and now she too could make food, although not as delicious as Alex but still.
Anyways, back to the topic, the reason Alex had done this was because of a new cultivation technique or to be precise a soul cultivation technique Alex was practicing.
The Primordial Soul Devouring Art, this was a cultivation art that made the user consume the soul essence to increase the level of soul cultivation. There weren't any drawbacks at all, just the amount of soul essence needed was a lot.
There were 5 stages in the soul cultivation and only 4 divisions in each i.e. Entry, Mid , High and Peak.
To enter the Entry level of the 1st stage also known as Soul Embryo stage, Alex needed to consume the essence of five thousand emperor level beings, which could be replaced with lesser number of higher realm cultivators.
Alex hadn't started to collect soul essences yet but just got used to killing.
Back to the present,
Alex heard Qingyue's voice and turned to look at her with a smile on his face.
On seeing him looking at her, Qingyue ran towards Alex with a smile and an excited look on her face. She was just like a child who was running to hug her father who had just returned from work.
