Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 Unable to Forgive, Forever

Sheng Xiangsi didn't want to.

Instead of going in, she took a step back.

"What now?"

The furrow in Fu Hanjiang's brow deepened, displeasure evident in his voice. "I told you to come in, so come in!"

He was growing impatient, raising his arm to grab her.

But then he remembered that Sheng Xiangsi seemed to be very averse to being touched by him... She really could be quite "sensitive."

With that in mind, he hesitated.

"Come on! Get in!" he urged her.

"No..."

Sheng Xiangsi shook her head, refusing.

"Sheng Xiangsi!"

Fu Hanjiang's impatience was growing, and he was about to lose his temper.

But the elevator didn't wait for anyone; the doors closed slowly in front of them.

"Hey!"

Fu Hanjiang wanted to stop it, but he was too late. He couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "Stubborn girl!"

Yao Leyi and her assistant exchanged glances.

"Hanjiang." Yao Leyi pulled Fu Hanjiang's sleeve, smiling gently. "Don't worry. It's Grandma's surgery today, and Xiangsi will come up soon."

"I know."

Fu Hanjiang nodded, but he was annoyed. "But why won't she come up?!"

"It's probably because of me," Yao Leyi said with a wry smile. "You know, we had a little disagreement a few days ago."

"A disagreement?"

Fu Hanjiang's eyes darkened, and he sneered coldly. "So, she has the nerve not to want to see you? From what I see, she's the one who should be embarrassed to show her face!"

"Enough."

Yao Leyi tried to intervene, but Fu Hanjiang interrupted her. "She made a mistake that's unforgivable? That's something I'll never forget! How can we just let it go?"

"Fu Hanjiang..."

"Enough."

Fu Hanjiang cut her off before she could say more. "You can forgive her because you're soft-hearted. But for me, what she did concerns my nephew and niece — I can't forgive that, ever."

Otherwise, how could he face his older brother, how could he face the Fu family?

Yao Leyi looked at him, contemplating silently.

"Lele."

The assistant couldn't help but speak up, his voice low. "Mr. Fu is finally getting a divorce. This is your chance... you must seize it. When the time is right, you can take the initiative!"

"What nonsense is this?"

Yao Leyi frowned, scolding him.

"I..."

The assistant stuttered, terrified.

"In the future, don't say such things again!" Yao Leyi warned sternly. "If the media gets wind of it, who knows how they'll twist the story. Do you hear me?"

"I... I hear you."

"Let's go."

Yao Leyi crossed her arms, catching up with the tall man ahead.

Because Sheng Xiangsi hadn't arrived yet, they had to wait in the waiting area before they could go in.

...

It was almost noon when Yao Leyi checked the time and asked Fu Hanjiang, "Hanjiang, what would you like to eat? I'll order."

"You decide," he replied.

Fu Hanjiang's phone rang at just the right moment — a work call. "I have some business to attend to... I'll take this call outside."

So, in the lounge, it was just Yao Leyi and Sheng Xiangsi left.

Yao Leyi smiled at her. "Xiangsi, what about you?"

Sheng Xiangsi seemed a bit slow to respond, shaking her head. "I'm fine, you two go ahead and eat."

With that, she picked up her backpack, stood up, and walked out the door.

Hmm.

Watching her leave, Yao Leyi chuckled softly. "Don't want any? Good. I don't really feel like eating with you either."

She beckoned to her assistant, "Could you please order some food? You know what Hanjiang likes, right?"

"Yes, don't worry."

The assistant assured her and went to order.

By the time Fu Hanjiang finished his work and returned, the food had just arrived.

"Hanjiang." Yao Leyi waved at him, smiling. "Sit down quickly, it's all your favorite dishes. Eat while it's hot."

"Okay."

Fu Hanjiang put down his phone and pulled out a chair.

Just as he was about to pick up his bowl, he glanced around and asked, "Where's Sheng Xiangsi?"

"She's gone out," Yao Leyi replied casually. "She said she didn't want anything."

"Didn't want anything?"

Fu Hanjiang couldn't help but sneer. She seemed addicted to the words "don't want." She might as well patent them; she said it for everything.

Putting down his bowl, he stood up.

"Where are you going?" Yao Leyi quickly grabbed his arm.

"To find her and have lunch."

"Let it go!" Yao Leyi laughed softly, shaking her head. "I think she's serious. You forgot, what did she study? Dancing students are all about dieting."

"Dieting?"

Fu Hanjiang didn't believe it. He had seen her eat before, even though her time back was short, her appetite was huge!

"You don't understand her. She can eat!"

With that, he pulled out a chair and went out.

Suddenly, Yao Leyi's eyes darkened.
