After the awkward incident between Luna and Kieran, the mood at the party became somewhat strained, but the reasons were not as one might expect. Instead of being angry with Kieran, Luna felt ashamed of herself for having shown a side of weakness to the others. The touch of a man had awakened some repressed resentments in her that she wanted to cut off from herself.
Unfortunately, one cannot easily separate oneself from one's subconscious, at least not at this level. This takes a level of mental acumen that humans do not possess. Even Kieran had found it difficult in his past to detach himself from subconscious actions. This meant, of course, that he never had complete control over himself.
Complete control also includes control of the subconscious, as it is another part of a person that really defines them. Certain stimuli can set off the subconscious in very difficult situations, leading to a person's most primal form emerging.
