Chapter 7 - Flowers miss their home.

Isabel's eyes widened as she gazed at the illustrations of the magnificent king and his awe-inspiring dragon. The dragon's scales shimmered with a fiery brilliance, its eyes glowing with a fierce intelligence.

"King Scorvius," Thomas continued, "was known far and wide for his bravery. When monstrous creatures from a dark, distant arc threatened to destroy our land, it was Scorvius who stood against them. Mounted on his mighty dragon, Drakthar, he led our people into battle, his heart unwavering and his spirit indomitable."

Thomas turned the page, revealing a breathtaking scene of Scorvius and Drakthar soaring through the skies, flames bursting from the dragon's maw as they faced a horde of monstrous beasts. Isabel's breath caught in her throat, her young mind captivated by the epic tale.

"With each battle, Scorvius and Drakthar grew stronger, their bond unbreakable. Together, they pushed back the darkness, driving the monsters from our lands and restoring peace to Valaraeth. Under his reign, the kingdom flourished, becoming a beacon of hope and prosperity for all who lived within its borders."

Isabel's gaze was fixed on the images, her imagination painting vivid scenes of bravery and heroism. She could almost hear the roar of the dragon, feel the heat of its breath, and sense the courage of the legendary king.

"King Scorvius's legacy," Thomas concluded, "is one of strength, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his people. His spirit lives on in every corner of Valaraeth, reminding us of the greatness we can achieve when we stand united."

Isabel hugged the book to her chest, her heart swelling with pride. "I'll be brave like King Scorvius, Grandpa. I promise."

Thomas kissed the top of her head, his eyes filled with love. "I know you will, my dear.

As Thomas continued the story, Isabel listened intently, her eyes wide with fascination. He turned the page to reveal a new set of illustrations, depicting a dark time in the history of Valaraeth.

"But not all of King Scorvius's reign was filled with triumphs," Thomas began. "There was a time when our people were desperate for food, constantly besieged by monstrous creatures from the dark realms. The land they lived in was barren, and their very survival was at stake."

Isabel's brow furrowed as she looked at the pictures of frightened villagers and fearsome monsters. "What did King Scorvius do, Grandpa?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.

Thomas continued, his tone grave. "King Scorvius, wise and resourceful as he was, knew that he had to find a new home for his people. He embarked on a perilous journey, guided by ancient prophecies and the wisdom of the Elders. After many trials, he discovered a hidden land—a magical island that floated in the sky, untouched by the darkness below."

Isabel's eyes widened as she looked at the illustration of the majestic floating island, suspended in the air by powerful, unseen forces. "That's our home, isn't it, Grandpa?"

Thomas nodded. "Yes, Isabel. This very land we live on today. But the island was not yet safe. To ensure the survival of his people and protect them from the monsters, King Scorvius made a great sacrifice. He delved deep into the heart of the island, placing a powerful crystal core at its center."

He turned the page, revealing an image of King Scorvius placing the glowing crystal deep within a cavern, its radiant light spreading through the island. "The crystal core channeled all the energy of the island, keeping it afloat and creating a protective barrier that shielded our land from the dark realms below."

Isabel gazed at the glowing crystal, imagining the immense power it held. "Is that why we're safe here, Grandpa?"

"Yes," Thomas affirmed. "The crystal core is the source of our land's life and magic. It ensures that Valaraeth remains a sanctuary, providing abundant food and protection for all who live here. King Scorvius's wisdom and bravery saved our entire race, and his legacy is the very foundation of our existence."

As Isabel listened, a deep sense of gratitude filled her heart. She realized how much had been sacrificed to create the peaceful world she knew. "King Scorvius was a true hero," she said softly.

Thomas smiled, closing the book and setting it aside. "He was indeed. And his spirit lives on in each of us.

Isabel nodded, feeling a newfound sense of purpose.

Her grandfather hugged her tightly, his eyes shining with pride. "my dear. Now, it's time for you to rest. Tomorrow is another day full of adventures."

As Isabel lay down to sleep, the story of King Scorvius and the floating island filled her dreams. She saw herself standing alongside the great king, fighting to protect their land and its people, found herself face to face a beautiful dragon. She wants to climb on him but the dragon was running away from her...

And so, under the watchful eyes of her grandparents and the magical protection of the crystal core, Isabel drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep.

The next morning, Isabel woke up to the gentle sound of birds chirping outside her window. She stretched and yawned, her thoughts still filled with the tales of King Scorvius and the floating island. Excited for another day of adventure, she quickly got dressed and hurried outside, hoping to find her grandparents.

As she stepped into the garden, she noticed her grandfather loading a cart with bundles of spiritual flowers, their vibrant petals shimmering in the early morning light. Isabel's brow furrowed with concern as she approached him.

"Good morning, Grandpa," she said softly, her eyes fixed on the cart. "Why are you moving all the flowers? If you take them all, won't our land become bald? Where will I play?"

Her grandfather paused, wiping his hands on his apron before kneeling down to her level. He smiled warmly, understanding her worry. "Good morning, sweetheart. These flowers are special. It's part of my work to gather them and sell them at the market. It helps us make a living, so we can buy delicious food and everything else we need."

Isabel tilted her head, trying to understand. "But won't the flowers miss their home? And won't the garden look empty without them?"

Thomas chuckled softly and shook his head. "You see, Isabel, flowers have their own life cycle. If we don't harvest them, they will eventually wither and die.

By gathering them now, we make sure they are put to good use. They can be made into medicines, potions, and other important things that help people."
