That night, after they managed to get out of the gloomy basement, Kevin, Mattew, and Lucca painstakingly brought Cassie to a temporary hiding place. An old cottage on the outskirts of town, away from the crowds and people's eyes. There, they hoped to take care of the increasingly weak Cassie, while looking for a way to save her from the critical condition that continued to eat away at her strength.
Inside the cottage, Kevin anxiously watched Cassie who was lying on an old sofa. Her breathing was slow and heavy, with cold sweat running down her forehead. Lucca sat by the window, staring out with an unpredictable facial expression, while Mattew tried to make Cassie comfortable by covering her body with a thick blanket.
"We have to find a way to help her," Kevin said finally, breaking the tense silence. "We can't leave her like this."
