Although there were no signs of change, his heart was still filled with worry, yet a small hope began to grow within him. "I will always be here, Cassie," whispered Kevin, his hand still clutching the book full of memories. "I won't go anywhere."
Hanna looked at Kevin sympathetically. She knew how heavy the burden he carried was, trying to be strong for his sister and for himself. Hanna wiped her tears and moved closer, taking Kevin's hand.
"You need to rest too, Kev," Hanna said gently. "We will continue to be here for Cassie together. But you also have to take care of yourself."
Kevin nodded slowly, though his eyes remained fixed on Cassie. "I know. But I feel like if I leave, I will lose her. I can't leave her alone."
Hanna smiled faintly, full of understanding. "You're not alone, Kev. We're here for Cassie, and for each other. You need strength to keep supporting her too."
