Cassie slowly opened her eyes, her gaze wandering in every direction.
"Ah... it seems like I had another nightmare," Cassie muttered, roughly rubbing her face. She couldn't understand why she had been having such strange dreams lately, but what was even stranger was how real those dreams felt.
"Is this because of this damned illness?" Cassie grumbled, recalling Dr. Alex's words from last week, making her think it might be the case.
'Your condition is worsening, Cassie. Even if you go through chemotherapy, it will be in vain. You must fully commit to the treatment I recommended, and you might experience some side effects from your illness.'
Remembering Dr. Alex's lengthy explanation made Cassie's head throb with pain. A few weeks ago, her illness had mysteriously faded as if by magic, but last week, it returned. Could all of this really be caused by magic?
