Chen Daqiao explained, "The lock is just a formality. The village kids all go to school here, and the only things to steal are some desks and chairs, which the teachers made themselves with the parents, by going up the mountain to cut down trees. No one would bother stealing those!"
Bai Cheng'an nodded and pursed his lips, "Since we've opened it, let's go inside and take a look!"
Chen Daqiao quickly nodded, pushed the gate open, and let Bai Cheng'an and Qian Sisi enter first.
The school wasn't large, and within the patched-up courtyard walls were a row of single-story buildings and a cleared dirt playground, with two crude ping pong tables and a low basketball hoop on the side.
As the three of them entered, they could hear a loud voice from the nearby single-story building's roof asking, "Who's there? What are you doing coming in?"
