The Xie and Bai families were old family friends. Bai Cheng'an had known Xie Qishan's daughter, Xie Zhiyao, since they were children, but as Zhiyao had been raised solely by Ye Manrong, she inherited Ye's cool and reserved nature. Unlike other girls who were eager to cling to Bai Cheng'an, she showed no extra enthusiasm towards him, merely offering a polite greeting, "Brother Cheng'an."
Bai Cheng'an nodded in acknowledgment, effectively greeting Xie Zhiyao, before turning to strike up a conversation with Xie Qishan.
"Is this... you're bringing your whole family out to eat?" Xie Qishan, spotting the Qian family at a distance, confirmed with Bai Cheng'an.
Bai Cheng'an smiled and nodded, "Yes! Sisi is about to have her final exams, she's been staying at school for the week. Today is Saturday, so I specially picked her up to have dinner with my parents, to ease the elders' worries!"
Xie Qishan patted Bai Cheng'an on the shoulder, "You always think of everything!"
