Chapter Fifteen: Derex and Luciana.
"You're late."
***
Derex sat at the end, far across Lunciana who observed him. She was busy eating with a smile on and Derex for a moment thought something was amiss.
"I don't get it." he confessed his discomfort.
Luciana, took steps closer to him, displaying her signature catwalking steps then positioned her behind on the table really close to him.
She took a fork, then a piece of the food and put it in her mouth. "See, no posion." she made known. "And if I wanted to posoin you, I surely have other methods."
"No. Not that. You're acting differently, and If you think saying words like this to me sounds soothing then you're a villan in disguise."
"Hah," she let out a sarcastic laugh. "Derex what did you mean by what you said before concerning my town?"
He spoke in annoyance. "I knew it!" He stood up, smouldering anger. "You're only interested in your town."
"Of course I am. I am a Luna."
"You are a deceitful being that's what!"
"What do you really want from? So you think I'll really be nice to you, then dream on. You know what I'm done being nice to you. Screw Wendy's method, I'll be as viscious as a Viper!" she then said,
"If you don't tell me the reason, I'll kill you myself sending it as a message."
She stormed out.
***
Derex faced up with an arm across his stomach, lying on his bed. His thoughts seemed clouded for a reason.
He heared a knock on his door and didn't hesitate to go for it. He opened the door only to see Luciana clad in her night dress.
"You're here."
"May I come?" she asked, simultaneously walking inside.
"Like I have a choice." He then closed the door.
"What're you doing here?" This was from Derex.
She ignored the question and focused on the hung up photos on the wall. His hand then slammed against the wall, earning her attention by force. He was beside her and demanded a response.
"Gentleman, can't I just come and visit?
"It's midnight. You just don't come in and visit."
"You or Damon, who is stronger?"
"What?" he questioned the random topic.
She offered herself a seat. "Are you higher than him in hierarchy, you know, being close to the All Alpha and all? Could you kill him for me, or bring him to me so I could kill?"
"Get out of my room if that's what you want to talk about."
"Is that how you talk to someone's who's forgiven you?" There was pause... "I can't sleep." Luciana confessed, earning silence from the man.
He then found his voice. "Is there anything in particular you want me to help you with?" he asked with a raised bow.
She held her arm. Derex looked closely and saw a bit sadness in her eyes. "It's the candle night ceremony for the girls lost. The girls Red City's pack lost. You may attend."
She then walked out leaving Derex in diverse thoughts. He wanted to apologise for being rude.
***
Outside, everyone was putting on black asides Luciana who was clad in a red hoodie associated with a cape, leading the service.
"In memory of our sisters! Our beloved family members who have passed, we say goodbye and at the same time we say welcome because we have kept a place for you in our hearts. Sister Belle, sister Alisha, sister Jenifer, we love you and may the moon goddess guide you on your new path."
People turned into their wolf and howled staring at the moon. Instead of looking at the moon, Derex's eyes alighted on Luciana and he felt worried for her.
Many Red City pack members showed their respect to the bodies before they were burried. Luciana still kept a strict face devoid of expressions.
***
After the ceremony, Luciana decided to race to a particular graveyard. She was dressed in black sweatpants. She gazed at the moon and smiled, knowing her sister was up there with the goddess, the mother of the All Alpha who ruled them down here.
She came to visit Julietta Dubrev's grave which was beside her mother's. She lit incense, placing flowers in their grave and bowed her head.
"I love you so much Julietta," she stated. "Mum, Julie. You're my favourite persons. Being a Luna isn't easy. There's a creepy detective Beta in my town and I hate him so much."
She then heard a tree branch crack and snapped her head behind. She stood up to investigate the presence.
When she carefully checked both sides of her environment, she was sure no one was there.
She returned to the gravestones and spent a moment with her family. "I swear on my life that I'll protect this town." Tears trickled down her eyes. "I promise, you Julietta."
***
Wendy and Derex gazes met each other and she gave him a scowl. Everyone was returning to their various home when this incident occurred. She gave him a punch on his arm and he moaned, clearly accepting he deserved it.
"Never pull that stunt again, you hear me?" she warned and they both chuckled.
***
Derex now returned to his room and he had a dream which he was clearly conscious of.
He rolled to side and as he did so, his eyes met one of the photos he hung on the wall. Coincidentally, that particular one fell lightly on the floor.
He locked his gaze with the photograph as it was a pic of Luciana.
DEAR JULIETTA.
