William felt sickened by Arthur Kane the previous night, so much so that he lost any desire to visit the beautiful Tina. He was frustrated, wondering why trouble always seemed to find him.
It seemed that in any world, once you reached a certain level, trouble was inevitable. In the movie world, it might be even worse, with villains everywhere, more lunatics and idiots, constantly wanting to destroy the world.
So, the previous night, William went to the best shooting club he could find after leaving the bar. He needed to blow off some steam and practice his shooting skills.
Although he had the skills and experience of master marksmen like Bullseye and the Punisher in his mind, with Bullseye's ability to kill with anything he could throw, practice was still essential. Real shooting skills were honed with live ammunition, and although people with high talent learned faster and reacted quicker, it still required actual practice.
He learned about firearms and throwing knives out of necessity. Magic couldn't be openly used, and he had no power or influence, so he had to rely on himself.
He even thought that if someone pushed him too far, he would resort to assassination. With teleportation magic, he could create an alibi. In a few seconds, he could teleport thousands of miles away, kill someone, and return immediately. No judge or jury would believe he could travel thousands of miles in ten minutes.
In his past life, he was just an ordinary person. Now that he had money, he wanted to enjoy life. He was a person without grand ambitions, only wanting to live well, never dreaming of ruling the world. He didn't have the ability or the desire.
In his previous life and now, the only difference was he was rich now. An ordinary person becoming wealthy cared even more about enjoying life. Anyone who got in the way of his fun in this colorful world would be dealt with.
And he would eliminate all those crazy lunatics who wanted to destroy the world. Peace was so good; it allowed him to play happily.
William practiced at the shooting range for a few hours, and his shooting skills improved rapidly. After three hours, he could hit the bullseye with every shot.
His abnormal physical condition allowed him to fire almost 500 rounds without feeling tired. He also practiced throwing knives for two more hours, and now he could accurately hit the bullseye quickly.
It was fun, but when it came time to pay, he felt the pain. A few hours cost him nearly 10,000 pounds. Damn, each bullet cost almost 10 pounds. This money-making business was really good. America was better; guns could be bought freely, bullets fired at will, and it would save at least 7,000 pounds.
Looking at the owner, who was grinning ear to ear, he thought, "Damn it, I won't come here again. Don't think I don't know how much you're making."
When he got home, Lena was already asleep, so William washed up and went to bed.
He got up early at 8 AM the next day, remembering his appointment with Prince Wilson. After washing and dressing appropriately, he drove to his mother Lena's café for breakfast. Luckily, Lena wasn't there this morning, or she might have kicked him out.
William flirted with the not-so-busy Tina for a while. Looking at the delicate beauty of Tina, who was only 16, he thought but dared not act. Tina wasn't yet 18, and he was mindful of Aunt Mary. The thought of being hunted by Aunt Mary made him shiver.
After chatting with Tina until 9:20, William got up and headed to Kensington Palace.
Tina walked him to the door, her slightly flushed face full of anticipation, hoping for a goodbye kiss. Seeing her baby-fat cheeks, William shook his head and couldn't bring himself to do it. He just hugged Tina, said goodbye, and drove off.
Tina stood at the door, a bit disappointed, and returned to the café, thinking she might need to be more proactive next time.
Kensington Palace was in central London. William drove there in less than 20 minutes. After waiting in the car for ten minutes, he drove to the palace gates and pressed the doorbell. The screen at the gate showed Prince Wilson's face.
Seeing William, Wilson opened the gate, and William drove into Kensington Palace.
After parking, William saw Wilson, Prince Harry, and the butler and maids waiting for him at the door.
William hugged and greeted the two princes, presenting them with a game guide for "Plants vs. Zombies" that he wrote that morning and a bottle of 1982 Lafite.
The two princes were delighted to hear that William had written the game guide himself, and the butler nodded approvingly at the gift of the 1982 Lafite. In his view, it was very appropriate.
In 2000, a bottle of 1982 Lafite wasn't as hyped as it would be later. It was just over 1,000 pounds, not yet inflated to tens of thousands per bottle.
The two princes led William into Kensington Palace, where he met Princess Diana. Not knowing royal etiquette, he greeted the princess with a simple bow, and she didn't mind. The royal family was trying to appear more approachable, at least on the surface.
After a brief meeting, Princess Diana instructed the princes to take good care of William and then excused herself.
Today, William was there at Prince Wilson's invitation. The princess, as a mother, only needed to meet the guest; entertaining him was the princes' job. Her presence would only make William feel constrained.
After the princess left, the two princes showed William around Kensington Palace.
As someone who had never been to Europe in his past life, William was seeing a European royal residence for the first time. Although it wasn't as big as the Forbidden City, it had a lived-in feel, unlike the empty Forbidden City.
The walls were adorned with large oil paintings and murals, rooms filled with family photos, books, magazines, and various household items like candles and potted plants. The rooms were elegantly designed and very homely.
After touring the palace, they had lunch, with Prince Charles and Princess Diana joining them.
Despite being a bit of a bumpkin in terms of etiquette, William's conversation and knowledge impressed Prince Charles and Princess Diana. William often made insightful comments, especially about high-tech topics that neither Prince Charles nor the princess understood much about.
Talking about future tech products, William's words often left the royal family amazed and incredulous.
For example, William talked about how future mobile phones would not only make calls and send texts but also replace computers.
Large-screen phones could browse the internet, shop, watch movies, video call, chat, buy stocks, and even make payments. All this left the royal family feeling curious and incredulous.
Years later, Princess Diana mentioned in a book that in 2000, William visited Kensington Palace and predicted many of today's popular technologies.
The public then realized that William Devonshire had planned his future path so early, explaining why he became the world's richest man.
After lunch, which lasted over two hours, Prince Charles reluctantly left with the princess for work. Before leaving, he invited William to stay for dinner at Kensington Palace, saying he hadn't had enough time to chat.
The princess playfully urged Prince Charles to hurry to his work, and after repeatedly instructing William, the prince finally left.
It was February in London, and the weather was still cold, not suitable for outdoor activities.
After lunch and a half-hour rest, the princes took William to their indoor sports arena for some horse riding.
Thanks to his system-enhanced brain and body, William was able to ride a horse at a slow pace within half an hour.
Although it was just a trot, Prince Harry refused to believe that William had never ridden before. However, seeing that William couldn't even mount a horse initially and needed the riding instructor's help, he started to believe it a little.
Harry just couldn't believe that such a genius as William existed, who learned everything so quickly. At 16, he felt pressured when facing William.
Just as William was pleased with learning to ride, his phone suddenly rang.
Seeing it was from Diana Rigg, whom he hadn't seen in days, he answered casually.
"Hi, Diana. What's up? Missing me already?" William teased over the phone.
"I don't miss you at all. William, did you forget what you promised me? God, I knew you didn't care about me. William, you're such a jerk," Diana Rigg accused.
William certainly remembered what it was. He just hadn't had time these past few days. But beautiful women deserved to be coaxed. "Sweetheart, of course I remember. I've just been busy these days. Don't worry, I won't forget my promise. Darling, I've been thinking about you every day. How about we meet tonight?"
"Hmph, I'm still not feeling well. You brute, don't think I don't know what you want to meet for," Diana Rigg teased.
After some flirting, Diana suddenly exclaimed, "William, what are you doing? I hear horses. Oh, William Devonshire, you have time to ride but not to keep our date? You jerk, I'm breaking up with you."
