Chapter 20 - Semi-Finals: Jino vs. Zaun - Part 1

The crowd buzzed with anticipation as the next semi-final match was announced. Elder Pan's voice echoed through the arena, "For the second semi-final, we have Jino facing Zaun. Prepare yourselves for an incredible display of skill and power."

Vaughn, still feeling the strain from his intense battle with Kai, sat at the edge of the arena with Fray tending to his wounds. Despite his fatigue, he was eager to watch the upcoming match. Jino and Zaun were both formidable opponents, and this fight promised to be a spectacle.

Jino stepped into the arena with his usual confident demeanor. His presence commanded attention, and it was clear that he was a force to be reckoned with. Zaun, on the other hand, exuded a quiet intensity. As an outer disciple who had made it this far, he had already proven himself, and his eyes were set on victory.

Vaughn turned to Fray, who was applying a healing salve to his bruises. "This should be interesting. Jino is incredibly skilled, but Zaun's determination is something else. I can't wait to see how this unfolds."

Fray nodded, her eyes fixed on the arena. "Jino's precision and technique are unmatched, but Zaun has shown he can adapt and overcome. It's going to be a tough fight for both of them."

The referee signaled the start of the match, and both fighters immediately assumed their stances. Jino moved with a grace and fluidity that was mesmerizing, while Zaun's stance was solid and unyielding.

Jino initiated the fight with a swift series of strikes, testing Zaun's defenses. Zaun responded with measured movements, blocking and countering each of Jino's attacks. The crowd watched in awe as the two fighters exchanged blows, their movements almost too fast to follow.

"Jino's always been precise," Vaughn commented, wincing slightly as Fray applied more salve. "But Zaun's defense is solid. He's not giving Jino any openings."

Zaun, recognizing the need to disrupt Jino's rhythm, unleashed a powerful earth-based technique. The ground beneath Jino's feet rumbled and shifted, forcing him to adjust his footing. Zaun seized the opportunity, launching a barrage of punches and kicks.

Jino's agility allowed him to evade most of the attacks, but a few strikes found their mark. He countered with a flurry of his own, utilizing his mastery of the Azure Sect's techniques. The clash of elements created a dazzling display of energy in the arena.

"Zaun's really pushing Jino," Vaughn said, admiration in his voice. "He's not letting up."

Fray nodded, her eyes never leaving the fight. "Zaun knows he has to keep the pressure on. If he gives Jino any breathing room, it could be over for him."

As the battle continued, it became clear that both fighters were evenly matched. Jino's strikes were precise and calculated, while Zaun's defense and counterattacks were unyielding. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, captivated by the intense exchange.

The first part of their battle drew to a close with both fighters stepping back to catch their breath. The arena was filled with the sound of heavy breathing and the murmurs of an excited audience.

Vaughn leaned back, feeling the adrenaline from his own fight still coursing through his veins. "This is just the beginning. I have a feeling things are about to get even more intense."

Fray finished tending to Vaughn's wounds and offered a reassuring smile. "You did great out there, Vaughn. Now let's see how this fight ends."
