The rest of the day they watched television, played games and spent time with Michael, who was a joy to be around. The child was smart - his questions about the world around him were hilarious and Liam simply couldn't get enough of them.
That night they had a nice dinner. Liam cooked steak, potatoes and corn for the three of them. They sat down together and ate their dinner.
"This is really good," Kai said, smiling at Liam.
"Thanks," Liam smiled back. "You can make the food next time."
"Okay," Kai nodded.
Liam cut off a small piece of steak and placed it on Michael's plate. "Here you go, Michael. It's rare."
"Rare?" Michael asked. "Why does it have to be rare? It should be dead."
"Yeah," Liam said. "But it's rare meat."
"Oh," Michael said, his eyes wide. "Okay." He took a small bite and his face lit up. "This is amazing, Liam."
Liam smiled, his face turning pink. "Thanks."
