The three decided to go to a sandwich shop. They ordered their food from the counter then tool a seat at a booth. They sat their food down on the table.
Liam went to fill up the drink cups at the fountain. Kai tool a seat with Michael sitting next to him. Liam soon joined them.
They all started to eat their food. Kai's hand rested on Michael's knee, squeezing gently. Michael smiled up at him, his cheeks full of food. Kai smiled back, feeling the warmth spread throughout his entire body.
"So, why did you get married at jail?" Michael asked. "And why was your marriage license like a death certificate?"
"You have to get married at the courthouse because there isn't a church," Kai explained. "We're not a very religious couple."
"What does that mean?"
"Well, we don't believe in God."
"You're mean," Michael pouted, crossing his arms.
"How are we mean?"
"God created everything. Why would you not believe in Him?"
