"Damnit," Liam sighed.
"How do we reset the alarm?" Kayla asked.
"I don't know," Liam said.
"It will be fine," Kai said. "I'll call someone. They can come up here and turn it off."
"Okay," Kayla sighed. "This sucks."
"You're telling me," Kai laughed.
Liam gestured toward Kayla. As she followed him, Kai went to the desk, picking up the phone. He called the maintenance man of the building, Brad, to ask him what the code was for turning off the alarm.
"Are you the only one on?" a voice called.
"What?" Kai asked, turning.
An older woman was standing in the hallway, her eyes narrowed. It took Kai a moment to remember her name, as she had moved in not long ago. When he looked at her curly, silver perm and fuzzy pink house slippers, he finally remembered her name was Rita.
