The weather was perfect as the two of them sat at a table outside of a small cafe downtown. Even so, Kai felt somewhat anxious about the couple who would arrive shortly.
Liam managed to persuade him to have a face-to-face conversation with Sam and Jayden. The two had spoken to him over a video call, and Sam seemed genuinely apologetic for her previous actions. He had always believed in giving others a chance to redeem themselves, so he agreed to the meeting.
Kai sat there, sipping on an iced coffee. For being a winter morning, it wasn't cold at all. The weather felt more akin to a fall morning, so the breeze felt nice on his skin.
"It didn't used to be this warm in December," Kai commented while Liam looked through a newspaper.
"Yeah, the world's getting strange," Liam replied as he flipped the page. "I wonder how long it's going to take for climate armageddon."
