It seemed real. It didn't seem like something Liam was just suggesting to tease him. He felt loved. He felt the way Liam asked was genuine, like it wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision, and it wasn't based on his past trauma.
It felt like Liam actually wanted to marry him.
Kai had already agreed they could get married after his partner finished school. But he felt maybe, with the way he had asked, Kai would be willing to sooner.
"Liam," Kai gasped.
Liam held his hand tightly. He could see tears beginning to form in the other's eyes.
"Kai, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me. You've shown me what happiness and love truly mean. Please, don't say no."
"Liam," Kai repeated his name.
"Yes?"
