"Happy birthday, Kai!"
Streamers and confetti flew around the pub as the blonde's eyes widened. The last thing he expected was for there to be other people there. It was embarrassing.
On top of that, there was someone he hadn't seen in years. Even though he felt his nerves on edge, he was happy. He had been so nervous about going out, but the anxiety melted away when the short brunette, wearing a cute pink ribbon headband, ran up to him, embracing him in a tight hug.
"Kai!" Sam excitedly said as she nuzzled her face against his shoulder.
Kai laughed, happiness evident in his vocal tone and expression on his face. He wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her up off her feet.
"Samantha," he hummed, putting her back down.
She pulled away and smiled up at him. Her hands reached up, her small fingers pinching his cheeks.
"Look at how handsome you've gotten!" Sam grinned.
