Mika handed the box over to Kai. He begrudgingly took it from her. He didn't want the damn box, but he had no choice but to take it.
She held Michael's hand and led him inside, to the couch. He sat down. She crouched in front of him and kissed his forehead.
"Be a good boy for Uncle Kai and Uncle Liam."
Kai's eye twitched.
"Sure." Michael smiled at his mother.
Mika stood and walked back to the door. As she walked, Kai's eyes followed her.
"Stop glaring at me," Mika frowned.
"Whatever," Kai mumbled.
"I'm leaving," she sighed. "If it takes a long time, don't let him stay up too late."
"I won't," Kai assured.
Mika left, closing the door behind her.
Liam walked up to Kai. He took the box from him and placed it on the floor next to the sofa.
"Thanks," Kai mumbled.
"I heard Mika," Liam laughed.
