Chapter 6 - Start Of Semester

As Yeorin settled into his dorm, the scent of fresh sheets and newly opened books filled the air. He had always been driven to succeed, and this new chapter in his life was no exception. His black bedsheets covered his mattress, and his blinds were still shut, casting a dark and cozy atmosphere. He unpacked his bags, organized his belongings, and took a deep breath, ready to tackle whatever lay ahead.

"I can do this, it's just a repetition of last year. Hwaiting (let's get it)." He said to himself, giving himself morale. That has been the way he always did things. No one was ever there for him when he needed them, so he always did things himself. It was easier

The next day, Yeorin attended his first Economics class, dressed in his signature style - straight black pants, a white shirt, and an oversize black sleeveless sweater with dark shades and a custom-made nose mask. Professor Lim's lecture was engaging, and Yeorin listened intently, taking notes and making his hypotheses. His classmates seemed friendly, but Yeorin kept his distance, not wanting to draw attention to himself.

Yeorin listened intently to the professor's lecture, taking notes and making his hypothesis of the material. His classmates seemed friendly and welcoming, but Yeorin kept his distance, not wanting to draw attention to himself.

After class, Yeorin headed to the library, determined to stay on top of his studies. The musty smell of old books and the soft hum of the library atmosphere enveloped him. As he delved into his textbooks, he noticed a girl sitting across from him, her piercing dark brown eyes fixed on her books. Her long, curly hair cascaded down her back like a golden waterfall, and her lips curled into a perpetual smile. Just then, the girl looked up and caught his gaze. Yeorin felt a jolt of recognition - it was Han Ri Ta, the fairy-looking cheerleader from Jukheon High School. He hadn't spent up to four days yet, but Ri Ta was already in almost all the mouths of the freshmen and upperclassmen. He saw her a couple of times, but he didn't care. Girls were the last on his list of important things.

Ri Ta's smile faltered for a moment as she caught Yeorin's gaze, but she quickly recovered, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Yeorin kept a straight gaze and buried his head back into his textbook. Ri Ta was so spoiled that he always got what she wanted, she always provided all she asked for, which added to her narcissistic nature, always wanting to get whatever she desired became a part of her personality.

Han Ri Ta took Yeorin's not responding and not looking like he was infatuated by her beauty as an offense and walked up to him. Yeorin's heart raced as she approached him, her high heels clicking on the floor. As Ri Ta approached him, Yeorin thought to himself, ''What does she want now? Can't she see I'm trying to avoid her?'' He couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at the challenge in her eyes, but he pushed it aside, focusing on maintaining his aloof exterior."

"Hey," She said in her ever-confident voice and closed the textbook he was reading. Yeorin's eyes narrowed, his gaze intense, his mind racing with thoughts. Why was she talking to him? What did she want

She continued, "... Han Ri Ta." She said, stretching her hand towards him. Yeorin took a good look at each of her fingers and then looked at her face and nodded his head. He took the book, stood up and started walking away.

Ri Ta's ego was shattered immediately. No one had ever been like that to her. She trusted her pretty face and took every chance she had to remind whoever she talked to, no matter how many they were how pretty she was, but he was different. She liked it in a way. Finally, a handsome cool guy who plays tough and hard to get. She was up for the challenge, but there were too many eyes in the library, so she couldn't just allow him to walk out on her like that. She held him by the arm, and his walk came to a pause. He turned around and looked at her from his dark shades, still not uttering a single word.

"I said I'm Han Ri Ta. You don't seem familiar. You're probably not from Jukheon High School, so you might not know me. Nevertheless, no one ignores me when I talk to them. You're quite lucky. I rarely introduce myself to people first. So count yourself extremely lucky."

Yeorin still stood all quiet, looking at her. His feelings were mixed up, trying to understand what was actually wrong with her, "was she just an annoying human, or some rich girl or just an over-adored girl? As she can see, I don't care." He said within himself and stood all quiet.

"Are you a mute? Huh?" Ri Ta was beginning to raise her voice, exactly what Yeorin wanted. He knew he was handsome, and he wanted to crush Ri Ta's ego to the barest minimum. She pulled off his glasses, "who wears glasses during Fall? Where are you from? A nose mask too?" She said, laughing, trying to force Yeorin to talk.

Yeorin was insecure about a lot of things, and the color of his eyes was one of them. While in high school, his eyes were dark brown, but he always had pains in his eyes. They became lighter some days and became normal later on, but all of a sudden, his eyes became hazel brown overnight, making him look more dashing. Everyone who saw it loved it immediately and that made him cringe and feel embarrassed, leaving him insecure.

He closed his eyes so as not to disclose it to Ri Ta, "why do things like this always happen?" His ever-busy mind said. Finally, he spoke, "Please could you hand me back my shades." His censored thick voice broke through the silence. Ri Ta was taken aback by the sound of his voice, making Ri Ta even want to know him more.

"And if I say no," She tempted.

Yeorin scoffed softly, "It's not like I was asking." He thought to himself and got closer to her. He turned to her, and she was up against a stack of books. The fragrance of his cologne shot through Ri Ta's nose, disrupting her senses, "he smells nice too," Ri Ta was totally into this new mystery man thought to herself, just peering straight at his closed eyes, enjoying their awkward closure.

Yeorin's messy brown-black hair stuck out framing his piercing eyes. His ears poked out slightly, giving a glimpse of his sharp features, even with his nose mask on, his chiseled jawline was evident. He stood tall, his height evident even in his baggy clothes, and his muscles still stood out from his shirt. You'd know he worked out a lot as the cloth stood firm on his body.

He opened his eyes and his hazel-brown eyes shone bright like the rising sun. The sun made the moment more heart-fluttering for Ri Ta as it shunned brightly, and its rays rested on his face. The nose mask covered most of his face, but his eyes sparkled with intensity, drawing Ri Ta in. Without saying anything else, he took his glasses out of her hand and put them back on. He was backing the area where a larger number of people in the library were, so they didn't see him without his shades and the other parties were only able to see his side view from a distance, making them unable to see the details of his face properly, making Ri Ta the only person to have seen his eyes and felt his closure.

Ri Ta stood knocked down in amazement, he was different, one of a kind, and for sure he was a full package - he had the cute face, the style, the eyes, the height. He was complete. She looked at him as he strode away from the library, "Wow... He has a broad back. Totally my type, I want him and must have him." She said in her usual commandeering tone.

The encounter between Yeorin and Ri Ta was intense, their words hanging in the air like a challenge. Yeorin's heart pounded in his chest as he walked away from the library, the sun's rays casting a warm glow over the campus. He couldn't shake off the feeling that he had just escaped a trap, but he knew he was about to experience something he tried to avoid - provoking someone in a way that would either annoy them or attract them to him like a magnet.

Yeorin strode away with an elegant air following him, every step leading him closer and closer to his dorm room. "That was quite early, I thought I'd be able to last three weeks and of all people Ri Ta?." He said, unlocking the door to his room. As he entered his dorm room, he felt a sense of relief wash over him. He couldn't believe he managed to keep his cool with all of Han Ri Ta's moves. Yeorin let out a deep sigh, replaying the encounter in his head. He flopped onto his bed wondering about what happened.
