DualStar Entertainment Company.
The Olsen twins had just returned from a commercial event where they were promoting children's bath products.
Looking at the crowd of seven- and eight-year-old girls and boys, as well as a few teenagers, the Olsen sisters felt conflicted.
Children. They were everywhere… It seemed they were inseparably tied to a young audience, and wherever they went, they were surrounded by these little ones.
The noisy, chatty voices were starting to get on their nerves. It's said that a child's smile is the sweetest, but when you see it every day for decades, it starts to wear on you.
Finally done with the event and after spending an entire hour with forced smiles on their faces, the sisters felt like their facial muscles were about to freeze up.
Now, back at their company's office, they could finally relax a bit.
In their personal office, as the largest shareholders, they could afford this privileged rest. A comfortable soft bed, a fancy vanity, even a bathroom with a luxurious tub – this was the only place where they could shed the stress of work.
Collapsing onto the sofa and enjoying the services of a professional masseuse, the older sister, Ashley Olsen, quietly said:
"Just participating in the event alone seems exhausting now. It didn't used to be like this."
The younger sister, Mary-Kate Olsen, agreed:
"It's not physical exhaustion, but emotional. We're too tired inside."
"Yes, I'm tired of this state."
"Ashley, why hasn't he contacted us yet? Isn't the script finished? The last time we looked at it at MGM, it seemed almost ready. In my opinion, it's a hundred times better than New York Minute."
The strength from the massage made Ashley Olsen let out a satisfied moan. Closing her eyes, she replied:
"Mary, Blue is the Warmest Colour is an arthouse film, it needs to be carefully refined."
"In fact, I even hope that MGM puts more effort into this script. This could be our last chance, and the better it's refined, the more beneficial it will be for us."
Then she suddenly waved her hand in frustration:
"And that stupid New York Minute – a mediocre script we wasted $500,000 on! What madness!"
Mary-Kate Olsen smirked:
"Maybe we should look at it from another angle? It was this mediocre script that brought us to New York to seek investments, where we met Eric Cooper."
"Though he's an unpleasant guy too. His greed is evident from a mile away, like rotten leaves."
Knock knock knock.
There was a knock on the door.
"Sisters, it's me!"
Hearing the energetic voice outside the door, the sisters exchanged glances and looked at each other with envy, thinking about their younger sister.
The door opened, and Elizabeth Olsen rushed into the room. Despite her warm clothes, her sweet charm couldn't be hidden, and her smile was even sweeter than that of her older sisters.
But what the older sisters envied most was her height. At fourteen, Elizabeth was already as tall as they were.
"I knew I'd find you here!"
Elizabeth, as if at home, settled into the third massage chair, as she often came here.
"Elizabeth, did you finish filming?"
The girl nodded: "It was just a scene, so it wrapped up quickly."
Then she looked at her sisters' faces: "Oh my! Why do you look so tired? Just the day before yesterday, you were fine."
"It's nothing, just a bit tired. You won't understand yet."
Elizabeth pouted:
"Are you saying I'm not as famous? I know it's true. When people talk about the Olsen sisters, they only mention the two of you. No one pays attention to me."
The younger sister started to complain, and Ashley Olsen's voice immediately became gentle.
"Elizabeth, you're still young; it's too early to worry about that. We all believe that you can become a big star."
Mary-Kate added:
"But remember, don't follow our path. You should aim for the big screen, not linger on television; it will limit your development."
Elizabeth frowned:
"But no one is inviting me to film. I wanted to play in Spy Kids, but the team said I wasn't right for the part."
"They gave the role to Alexa Vega. The second part of the movie already came out last August and grossed over $100 million. Right now, Alexa Vega is the most popular young actress."
Ashley waved her hand, signaling the masseuse to leave. Only the three sisters remained in the room.
Then Mary-Kate Olsen said:
"Elizabeth, early fame isn't always a blessing. It can lead you into a world of fame and money too soon, and that can destroy your acting spark."
"Many young actors who became famous in their youth abandon their studies. Not everyone is born a genius, and most don't perfect their skills in film, but instead get used to playing by habit, choosing the easiest and most comfortable way of acting, turning into stereotypical actors."
Suddenly, Ashley Olsen interrupted:
"Wait, you seem to be talking about us."
"Aren't I? Fans often criticize us for our repetitive acting, saying that in all our roles, we just smile, laugh foolishly, frown, or pout, all accompanied by a couple of exaggerated movements. Don't you read fan reviews?"
Ashley opened her eyes wide:
"Of course, I do, but only the ones who love me. I ignore the critics, even though I know they might be right."
"I envy you; I can't do that. When I see negative comments, I get angry, but if I don't read them, it feels like something is missing. Sigh."
Elizabeth Olsen jumped off the massage chair and pulled two chocolate candies from her pocket, handing them to her sisters.
"Don't be sad; eat these. I got them on the set. And then try to give your best performance in New York Minute, and everyone will change their opinion of you."
Looking at their younger sister with her naive faith, Ashley smiled sadly:
"Elizabeth, there's bad news I forgot to tell you. The filming of New York Minute has been canceled."
"What? What about my role?"
"It's gone. Everyone says the script is too bad, and the movie would only be a loss."
"But I liked the script! It's so inspiring, funny, youthful, and full of energy. I love that story."
Ashley hugged Elizabeth and gently patted her head.
