As I drove through the darkness of the night, the car was shrouded in an uncomfortable silence. My mind kept wandering back to Margaret and the accident that had left her hurt.
I couldn't shake off the thought - was it really an accident, or was it something more sinister? Did Aaron have something to do with it? I couldn't imagine Aaron being capable of such a thing, but the uncertainty lingered, refusing to be dismissed.
I hadn't heard any updates on Margaret's condition, and my curiosity was getting the better of me. I told myself I shouldn't be thinking about her, that it wasn't like I still had feelings for her.
But I couldn't shake off the concern, the worry that had taken up residence in my mind. I found myself wondering if she was okay, if she had woken up, if she was still in pain.
Ariana's voice broke the silence, piercing through my thoughts.
