I stirred, my eyelids fluttering open as I slowly regained consciousness. I was met with an familiar ceiling, and my mind foggy, I tried to remember how I got there. A throbbing headache pulsed through my temples, making it hard to think. I sat up, my hand instinctively rising to my forehead as if to physically hold my thoughts together.
The last thing I remember... I racked my brain, trying to piece together the events leading up to this moment. I recalled sitting at the dining table with Aaron, sharing a meal and conversation. But after that... everything was a blur.
A memory flashed, like a fleeting glimpse of a forgotten dream. Wait a minute... after dinner, I started feeling dizzy, my limbs growing weak.
Though my eyes were closed, I was still aware of my surroundings, hearing muffled voices and footsteps. Someone carried me on their back... it should be Aaron.
