Chapter 49 - Day 49: Snow Day Shenanigans

Day 49:

9:00 AM – Woke up to an unusual sight: the castle grounds blanketed in a thick layer of snow. It was like someone had shaken a giant snow globe overnight. Seraphina looked out the window, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Interlude – Snow Surprise:

Seraphina: "Max, it's snowing! This is so rare!" Vortax: "Guess it's time for some winter fun. Hope the minions have mittens."

10:00 AM – Gathered everyone in the courtyard to announce an impromptu snow day. The minions were thrilled, eagerly grabbing scarves, hats, and gloves. Grog attempted to put on three scarves at once, claiming he was "layering for warmth."

11:00 AM – Started with a snowball fight. The minions were surprisingly skilled, launching perfectly packed snowballs with alarming accuracy. Seraphina and I formed a team, but we were quickly outnumbered. Grog's snowballs were the size of boulders, and he seemed to be aiming for headshots.

Interlude – Snowball Showdown:

Grog: "Incoming!" Vortax: "Grog, I said snowballs, not snow boulders!"

12:00 PM – After the snowball fight, we decided to build snowmen. The minions got creative, making snow dragons and snow minions. Seraphina and I crafted a snow replica of the castle, complete with tiny snow guards.

1:00 PM – Inspired by the winter wonderland, I suggested we make a giant snow fort. Everyone pitched in, constructing towering walls and intricate tunnels. Grog tried to dig a moat, but it quickly turned into a slippery slide.

Interlude – Fort Frenzy:

Seraphina: "Do you think this fort could withstand an attack?" Vortax: "Depends. Are we talking snowballs or Grog's snow boulders?"

2:00 PM – The fort was finished, and it was magnificent. We decided to hold a mock battle, with teams defending and attacking the fort. Grog, of course, took his role as siege engineer very seriously, constructing a snowball catapult that promptly fell apart.

3:00 PM – After the battle, we took a break for hot cocoa. Agnes had prepared a batch that was rich and creamy, with a hint of cinnamon. We sat around a bonfire, warming our hands and sharing stories.

Interlude – Cocoa and Tales:

Minion: "Boss, tell us about your first snow day." Vortax: "Well, it involved less snow and more lava, but that's a story for another time."

4:00 PM – With the sun beginning to set, I suggested we try ice skating on the frozen moat. The minions were hesitant at first, but soon they were gliding (and stumbling) across the ice. Seraphina proved to be an excellent skater, while I spent more time on my backside than on my feet.

6:00 PM – Returned to the castle for a snow-themed feast. The kitchen staff had outdone themselves with dishes like roast beast with cranberry sauce and snowflake-shaped cookies. The dining hall was decorated with icy blue lights and glittering icicles.

Interlude – Winter Feast:

Seraphina: "This is magical, Max. The perfect end to a perfect day." Vortax: "Agreed. Let's make snow days a tradition."

8:00 PM – The feast concluded with a toast to the unexpected snow day. The minions were exhausted but happy, their faces glowing with contentment. We all agreed that the snow had brought a special kind of magic to the castle.

10:00 PM – Ended the day feeling grateful for the simple joys of life. Seraphina and I sat by the fire, reflecting on the fun we'd had and the memories we'd made. The snow outside sparkled under the moonlight, a reminder of the beauty in unexpected surprises.
