Chapter 14 - chapter 14

The Queen of Reflection

The Queen of Reflection emerged from the mirror, her presence filling the clearing with an unsettling energy. Her eyes burned with an unnatural hunger, and her grin seemed to stretch across her face like a grotesque parody of a smile.

Riven and I stood frozen, our eyes locked onto the queen's twisted visage. The air around us seemed to grow thick with tension, as if the very fabric of reality was bending to her will.

The queen's voice was like a rusty gate, scraping against the air as she spoke. "You have entered my realm, mortals. You will pay the price for your trespass."

With a wave of her hand, the queen summoned a host of dark, shadowy creatures. They swirled around us, their forms indistinct and their eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy.

Riven and I drew our swords, ready to face whatever lay before us. But as we charged forward, the queen's laughter echoed through the clearing, like a madwoman's cackle.

The shadows coalesced into a legion of dark warriors, their swords flashing in the dim light. Riven and I fought side by side, our blades clashing with the queen's minions.

But despite our valiant efforts, we found ourselves being pushed back by the sheer number of attackers. The queen's power seemed to be growing stronger with each passing moment, her magic wrapping around us like a noose.

As we stumbled backward, desperate to escape the queen's wrath, I caught a glimpse of something strange. The mirror behind us seemed to be reflecting an image that was not our own. The queen's twisted form was reflected in its surface, but it was not alone. Other figures appeared alongside her, their faces twisted in grotesque grins.

The queen's laughter echoed through the clearing once more, and I realized that she was not just a single entity. She was a reflection of our own darkest selves, brought to life by the power of the mirror.

Do we confront our own darkest selves?
